In the LLacewell days I didn't root for us to lose to gain 3 draft slots ... but given last year's x-celent draft I think Jeff Ireland & Co. can leverage some real advantage from it round by round ... hope the game is close though!

I never want to root for a loss, but this is one of those games where the team has shown me that if they don't care, I don't care. If a higher draft pick is the outcome, so be it.

Yeah that's pretty much my take, too. I'm rooting for them to win, but the team (particularly the offense) is playing so flat, with so little passion, I find it hard to be passionate myself.

I think that scouting is so competitive today that about every team is about on par with players ... so that yes, given 3 slots - any team drafting ahead of those others in all 7 rounds - will gain an advantage.

Sorry yes I'm just hoping for Joel Buschbaum's ghost to reappear and write his draft guide .... an ugly time for a draftnik to raise his head ...

Are you a draft fan or a Cowboys fan?

Once mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs......a draft fan......3 positions could be huge in a trade or getting the player we really want.

I agree whole heartedly. Which would you rather have: A meaningless win this season and a lesser chance at an impact player in the future or a meaningless loss and chance to get a better impact player for the team in the future? It doesn't mean you are not a fan if you want the team to get in better position for the draft. Some of us are looking at the future and a win tonight could have drastically effected the Cowboys future because the player we need may have gone before we had a chance to pick him. Now we have increased our chances of drafting an impact player that could help fill our struggling areas.

I had this same opinion last year. I believe we had picks 11 and 20 last year, but could have gotten as low as number 6. Of course, we probably would have gotten the same players, but we could have had the option to trade down and pick up someone else...

Norm Hitzges is ranting on the ticket post-game show ... shame/shame/shame on us ... like he's trying to housetrain a new puppy.

The boys had MORE TO BE DEFLATED ABOUT than the Rams or any other team playing today given the early outcomes .. let the Boys be underachieving for today ... just flush stats and performances today down the drain.
