1st Round- Eli Harold, DE/OLB Virginia
-Like many others here at the Zone, Harold has quickly risen on my personal board and is arguably my top "Pet Cat" in the entire draft. As long as he can add another 10-20 lbs and gain some functional strength (which, I've read, Harold most definitely has the ability to do), I have the utmost confidence in Marinelli to do what he does best and coach this guy up.
2nd Round- Michael Bennett, DT Ohio St
-Might be a stretch to assume Bennett will still be around at our pick in the 2nd but as long as he is within reach of our pick, I wouldn't be opposed to trading a 4th or 5th to move up a few spots to get him (and FWIW, CBS currently projects Bennett as a 2nd rounder, 55th overall to be specific). The thought of a potential Lawrence, Crawford, Bennett, Harold combination for the D-Line on obvious passing downs has me salivating.
3rd Round- Stephone Anthony, LB Clemson
-Guy who is quick, instinctive, athletic, and a sound tackler with good college production which is basically everything you look for in a 4-3 OLB. I believe we must acquire some quality LB depth this offseason because of obvious durability issues with basically every LB on the squad and the likely departure of Bruce Carter in FA.
4th Round- Kurtis Drummond, FS Michigan St
-Solid coverage Safety prospect that is good at just about everything but not great at anything. The big weakness with Drummond is his tackling and overly-finesse attributes but IMO, we need a pure coverage-type safety and Drummond provides great value.
5th Round- Austin Shepherd, OT/OG Alabama
-PRovides solid OL depth, can play a variety of positions on the Line, good player at a low cost.
I haven't done enough research for the late rounders so that is basically it for my first mock. What you guys think?
