Asking price for DK Metcalf down to 2nd round pick

They clearly didn't need him like they don't need DK.

My point is simply that if they want it they can make it happen.
I don’t know they seem to not want to spend it. They went bargain bin shopping for guys like Hollywood and Juju. I mean if they can get Rice healthy and stay out of trouble and Worthy they may not need a receiver. They are stacked if they can get healthy.

Worthy just got arrested for domestic assault. Charges were dropped, but sure throws up some warning signals!!

Mahomes doing nothing but winning since they dumped Hill probably has a big influence on their reluctancy to improve the WR position.

They just think they don't need great WRs and so far they've been right.

My logic.

You're not going to get a WR better than him with your 1st round pick, so why in the world world would you not use a 2nd on him if you're trying to win?
My primary concern with that Mountaineer is that we would have two of the highest paid WRs in the league, with an aging, beaten down QB with questionable arm accuracy. The idea would be sound if we wanted Dak to throw the ball 40+ times a game. But since the idea going forward seems to favor a more run-oriented offense, I can't see the production matching the investment. At least with a draft pick, we have a guy on the cheap for four years.

If we could've been rid of Dak we'd be golden right now.

Get DK and have CeeDee. ELITE WR unit.

Then make that trade for someone like Geno Smith (the most underrated QB in the NFL) and you're golden.

Because 30 mil is too much for any WR. And paying two of them huge would mean no super bowls.
Sometimes you have to. We don't have Patrick Mahomes. Even at 30m, the Cowboys could easily do it. The 18m this year will offset the 30m per year a little bit. Give him the guaranteed money he wants, then backload the contract. Do that with multiple impact players and you have about a 2 year window before things start to get difficult. This is what I see teams do now. Stock up on players they can't afford hoping they win now.

They’ve spent the resources though. They clearly think there’s an issue. Traded for Toney…drafted Sky Moore, drafted Rice and drafted Worthy. They seem to spend the resources in draft picks.

Well, yes and no. What they had was a great TE. What happened in the super bowl? Kelce is simply old. 35 is ancient for the NFL. What KC needed was an adjustment of the game plan. If the DLine is in your face at the snap, you absolutely must go for quick hitters, short slants and crosses. What happened was Mahomes holding onto the ball for way too long. You can slow down the pass rush by dumping quick passes, but for some very odd reason KC refused to do it, getting Mahomes beat up badly.
