Asking price for DK Metcalf down to 2nd round pick

Sometimes you have to. We don't have Patrick Mahomes. Even at 30m, the Cowboys could easily do it. The 18m this year will offset the 30m per year a little bit. Give him the guaranteed money he wants, then backload the contract. Do that with multiple impact players and you have about a 2 year window before things start to get difficult. This is what I see teams do now. Stock up on players they can't afford hoping they win now.
So we can lose once again in the playoffs because we can't stop the run. What you are promoting is to build a regular season team that can't win in the playoffs.

Well, yes and no. What they had was a great TE. What happened in the super bowl? Kelce is simply old. 35 is ancient for the NFL. What KC needed was an adjustment of the game plan. If the DLine is in your face at the snap, you absolutely must go for quick hitters, short slants and crosses. What happened was Mahomes holding onto the ball for way too long. You can slow down the pass rush by dumping quick passes, but for some very odd reason KC refused to do it, getting Mahomes beat up badly.
"What happened IN THE SUPER BOWL?"

I stopped there.

If we could've been rid of Dak we'd be golden right now.

Get DK and have CeeDee. ELITE WR unit.

Then make that trade for someone like Geno Smith (the most underrated QB in the NFL) and you're golden.
Underrated? Eeek. Geno is pure and simply a bus driver. Think Teddy Bridgewater, Alex Smith, Gardner Minshew, Davis Mills, Jacoby Brissett. Mac Jones and Trubiskey headed that way, prolly Pickett also.

I'm not saying just pick up Metcalf. We tried that with Cooper, how'd that work out? Dallas has to get multiple impact players under the cap now, and pay for them later.

On straight drop backs last year Geno was 4th in completion percentage, 1st in on-target rate, 5th in success rate and 8th in 1st down + TD rate while seeing pressure on 35% of drop-backs.

And he's making like 25 million less a year than loser Dak.

Tom Brady wanted him. You don't. It say's a lot.

On D, yes. We are not going anywhere as long as our D is this deficient. Need multiple FAs and draft picks spent on the D. Don't see how signing and paying yet another #1 WR helps anything, except maybe finishing 9-8 and losing in the first round yet again.

Why do you think Brady sucks so badly at player evaluation?

Those stats you listed are what you see from a bus driver.

If you could have:

Dak (for a few games until he's hurt) and CeeDee

or

Geno, CeeDee, and DK.

Which one are you taking?
Geno in a heartbeat. I'm done believing in Dak. However, in taking on Geno, couple of things: You absolutely cannot pay him top of the market. And you must build around him correct. Geno isn't a playmaker, so you must get the right WRs for him who run the routes to maximize what he has, you must have a strong running game, and you must have a strong D.

Like I said, not saying just him. Look at these Eagles players cap hits last year.

Jalen Hurts -13m
AJ. Brown -11m
DeVonta Smith -8m
Landon Dickerson -5m
Saquan Barkley - 3.8m

They only took up 40m in cap space last year. But they'll pay for it later.

The difference is we didn’t do that until we had our Oline right. Having a bunch of star skill position players doesn’t do anything if you have a leaky Oline

DK will cost 30m$ in cap space AND lose you a highly graded day 2 player.

Thats 3-4 quality starters at Guard, at WR, at CB, at DE you could have had, and you traded them all for a guy who might get 1000 yards as Lamb’s #2. Does it really make sense?

And he just got traded for a 3rd round pick lol. A guy with one good year in his resume. I mean you probably watch him more than me so I won’t disagree I just never heard that before.

No way you pay him and ceedee that kind of money, just not enough cap to field a team with that much tied up between those two, dak, micha and the other bad contests
