If Zimmer and Payton both leave and BP stays....would you?

Offer Jim Johnson-Def Coordinator for the Eagles the Assistant Head Coach position to take Zimmer's place? I like Johnson and his attacking style of defense and I think with all of the young pups on D, he could mold one hell of a blitzing team.

This would only work if Johnson was not an Assistant HC already. Maybe Phoenix Talon can help me out with this...

I doubt the eagles would let him go.

I think they gave him a pretty good contract a year or two back to keep him from going anywhere and if need be they could just make him an assistant HC in order to keep him.

True...but do you like him as a D-Coordinator for this team as far as his style of defense? The only other established D-Coordinator I like is Dick Lebeau.

I don't think you would find many that don't Like him...I just don't see a way we would get him.

Dom Capers as DC, isn't he supposed to be a DC guru also.

If he isn't, he is now as Childress is gone.

Johnson has already said he's not going anywhere. BP's more than likely not going to work with people he's not familiar with so it's probably promotion from within again. I would like to see Capers here but I don't think it will happen.

A coordinator jumping teams to make a lateral move is unheard of in the NFL, unless he's getting a lot more control than he was with his previous position. Its hard to believe Jimmy Johnson would have more control in Dallas than he would in Philly. He's basically the Head Coach of the defense while Reid focuses on the offense.

Yep, Mo does ring a bell. From Detroit to Dallas to Cleveland. So does Sean Payton leaving New York.

No way would the Eagles let Johnson go, especially to us. I would like Capers coming as DC, he created the "blitzburgh" D and would bring a wealth of experience to our new 3-4 and would probably be able to develop Ware much more quickly than Zimmer.
