Jerry could've signed him for $5 at halftime with 4 INTs

Actually I think this was one of those games that was bound to happen and Jerry wanted to see how Romo handled it. Jerry will also want to see how well Romo bounces back next week against NE and the following week against the Vikes.

But agree the value of Romo's contract probably dropped a little but I still firmly believe he's our future.

Absolutely...Still, wish Jerry signed him at the half :D

My first thought when he threw that 5th int when they were in position to tie the game was "no way you can give him Brady/Manning money now, not if he's going to have games like this from time to time".

Well, the money he would save from Romo's contract could go to Nick Folk. The kid deserves it! :)

I don't know, fellas? Guys who are money in the fourth quarter and find a way to get their team a win usually make big money.

I said it all week.....Romo needed to have a poor outing (with Dallas still winning) to brink him back to earth....and stop these ridiculous contract numbers.

1 game is not going to change the fact that Romo is going to get a very nice contract in the end. 1 great game was not going to make him the highest paid and 1 bad game is not going to make a cheaper contract. Romo had a bad game but guess what he was able to pick himself up and help this team win and that say a lot about any QB who can hold it together despite how bad thing got.

Are you sure we want this guy>? I mean he will probably faulter against the NE defense I would try to strike a trade for a proven player.

So I am guessing none of you read his quote when asked if maybe Romo's stock had gone down,"In my mind it just went up.Write that."That's directly from Jones himself.

Doubt it. If he performs poorly against the Pats, then he might have some leverage. As bad as his six turnovers were, he still pulled it together enough to score on the last two drives that ended up winning the game. Anyhow someone ask Jerry about it and he said his play after fighting through such a performance only strengthened his feeling about Romo.

I agree with Jerry. I'm proud of the way that Romo was able to keep his head in the game and fight back to help this team. I don't want to see him have too many nights like lastnight but it is nice to know that it is not over as long as Tony is behind center, he will fight back. Some guys in this league do not have the ability to have rough outings and yet be able to put it back together in critical moments. Tony knows how to put the bad plays behind him and move forward. To me that says a lot about Romo

:lmao:

What's the market value for a Pro Bowl QB and the reigning NFC Offensive player of the month after his only bad game all year?

Even the almighty Brady and Manning have had games like these and are not immune to have another one from time to time......you wouldn't say they don't deserve their money because of it. The question is, do they have the team or the cajones to win them anyway like Romo did?

In a sordid way, this will be good for Tony.

They have both won super bowls. They deserve their money. My point was that you can't give Romo that type of money if he is going to have games like last night. Now, if he goes on to win us a super bowl, then yes he deserves that type of money. Until then he needs to accept Bulger/Schaub money.

There seem to be some people on the board who think a quarterback who can bring his team back down the field at crunch time and put it in a position to win after everything has gone wrong is not worth much.

They probably think Staubach was not that great, either.

As Charlie Waters said to Brad Sham in the broadcast booth when Roger Staubach did the same sort of thing on a particular occasion, "You gotta believe, Brad! You've gotta believe!"

That team believed in Staubach, even when things looked dark, and this team apparently believes in Romo the same way.

I think Jerry Jones does, too.

:)

:)

Problem is some never saw Roger play and some who did only remember the good things not the bad game where Roger played poorly and yet was able to get the ship righted and come back and win. I saw the same from guys like Elway and Marino where they could not hit the side of a barn in the 1st half of the game and yet were able to turn the game around.
