At least there was effort throughout the whole game

Prescott, Steele and Wilson owe their teamates a big apology, the other guys played hard. Turpin had a shot, but we are expecting him to save the game at the last minute is too much to ask, that is on Mike and Dak, should have gone with a different play there, throw it to 88 or even 80, at least there is a chance they might get a PI. The TD SF got on that offensive PI is on the Refs, but it would not have happened if 4 don't give them the ball.

Nothing matters, back to work.

The saddest part about the game was that San Francisco is going to get run over by Detroit and Green Bay even when they get CMC back. San Francisco is like the 4th or best team in the NFC. They are not getting by the second round of the playoffs even if they make it. The Cowboys talent wise is like the 10th best team in the NFC at best.

Hey look on the bright side. We might be the 2nd or 3rd pick in the upcoming draft if we only win 3 or 4 games.

Well all I can say is the team seemed to get its back up and decide to play with effort today.

I'm guessing collectively they were tired of looking like fools to the whole country and having the news media as well as former players beat them down.

Yes we were out manned on defense and Brock purdy used his legs to beat us
With some of our talented edge rushers back I think we would have limited his running and been able to possibly win this game.

Everybody played hard to the end some guys just can't catch I can't exactly blame the defensive lineman that much but Turpin had the ball in his hands and he's an NFL receiver and that ball needed to be caught.

I don't even look at wins and losses anymore at this point the Cowboys are my team to the box and today's game although a loss was still some better football to watch and a much better effort by the team.
That said McCarthy is still horrible

Looking for thoughts on the team's effort tonight
I agree, with Micah and DLaw in, we would have gotten to Purdy. He had a lot of time to throw the ball, without them there.

LOL "at lesat" "effort"

Those are thoughts and the mindset of a mediocre "pretender" team

This is just like the cheerleaders leading the cheer, "We are proud of you, say, we are proud of you!" Meanwhile you just got your butt handed to you. No thanks. These guys are paid way too much for moral victories.

Disagree. Defenders couldn't or wouldn't tackle.

All due respect brother. Effort is the bare minimum expectation.
I 100% agree with you.
But as of late we haven't been getting that bare minimum just haven't been seeing the effort.

Today it looked like everybody finally decided to try but as usual we were just about a player short would love to have seen DeAndre Hopkins or Adams have the opportunity to catch that ball that was in Turpins hands

Along with effort you need strategy and some semblance of a skill that can help you win

I make an effort to poop everyday but unless I add more fiber to my diet my stools is going to come out harder than watching the 2024 cowboys
Unlike your stools brother we need this team to come out a little harder and More physical it would make them easier to watch.

I think if Jerry would start to become active in free agency and add a little fiber to this team and our defensive line in particular it would stop looking like poop on game day

I hear ya. They definitely did play more physical which is a good thing.

They just don’t have the talent right now either though. That’s the sad thing.

Is this where this once proud franchise is at now?
We're happy about effort?
Yep pretty much it's about all we got cuz we are a proud franchise no longer this is a flat-out embarrassment most of the time.

The effort we got yesterday made it almost tolerable to watch

This is true a little more pass rush on Brock Purdy and a wide receiver that could catch in the clutch and this could have been a somewhat satisfying victory

The team is leagues behind the best squads. It gets proven repetitively. Other teams make moves, but they don’t always work. The Jets have lost two straight after acquiring the great Adams. The Cowboys need 10-15 high end replacements-including at QB. This train wreck will require multiple seasons/drafts to recover from.
I actually disagree. I think the hiring of an innovative, tough head coach (Vrabel, Ben Johnson etc.) plus one good draft and some QUALITY acquisitions in free agency can be more than enough for an immediate turnaround.

A good to great head coach and staff can actually help average guys look and play better than they actually are- something we haven’t seen in quite a while.

Do I think it’ll happen? No, bc of old man river at the helm. But could it happen? Most definitely. The whole “years and years away” thing is overused and overblown.

Turnaround to what? 8-12 win seasons and first or second round playoff beat down from a better team? That’s not new-nor needed. Many of the immediate core need to be excised from the squad. The path forward needs to include a burn down for most of the squad-then start over with your approach. That’s why I mention the long period of time. No coach is sniffing a CCG let alone SB with Dak Prescott as your full time starter.

I dont think we can point out the defense, which at DE and CB we're down to bones and add on the disparity between CAP spend......this is an offensive team, built around a costly offense (CAP and draft).

If Jerry wants to build his team on expensive names, they have to perform ABOVE THE PAY CHECK (IMO).

But you're right, at least there was effort.....the defense just ran out of steam and as per normal when it started to become a shoot, we can never keep up.
Spot on brother we're down to the ball boy on defense so I think Zimmer did the best with what he had left and give us some fresh edge rushers like Micah Sam Williams kneeland and I think those first downs that Purdy was continually getting would have been cut down.
That said when you're the highest paid player in the NFL throwing stupid interceptions is not winning you any friends.

But to his credit One it absolutely had to happen he put the ball right in the hands of his receiver and it was flat out dropped.

Another very winnable game a little participation in free agency could have provided the talent to win games like this.
To me it's on Jerry I don't care if you want to pay these guys at Kings Ransom maybe they're worth it to you but at this point you should know what they are and are not capable of and provide the talent to make it happen

Yep and then they'll screw that up by taking another tight end they don't need or a taco Charlton instead of TJ watt type move.

All true a great head coach can cover a multitude of sins.

The major problem is great head coaches do not put kissing Jerry's backside as top priority washed up retreads will do just about anything to keep their job and that's what Jerry aspires to.

So here we are looking like a substitute teacher in a fire drill every time we need good time management.
As bad as Jerry sucks McCarthy blows hard enough to equalize the pressure.

Now that is such a pertinent point. Which coach wants to have Jerry behind the scene's and in front of the mike.
