At what point do you take age into consideration for a prospect?

I don’t want a 24 year old rookie in the 1st round. He’s missing around three years off his physical prime. It would be easier to accept if he were a 6’5”, 215 lb athletic freak, but he isn’t. We’re talking about a 6’0”, 189 one-dimensional athlete. A 24 year old rookie is already less than ideal, but a 24 year old rookie who only maxes out as a great #2 WR would be an extremely disappointing pick. I don’t want to spend a 1st round pick on a player who’s already scratching his low ceiling.

It wasn't a shorter career it was the distinct advantage of being in your physical prime playing against kids in college. Makes you look better than you truly are. Which is why Terence Newman was a horrific top 5 pick.
This is absolutly correct.
It's very different to be dominating in college as a 20yo still growing than as a 24 yo basically already in your prime physically.
