Is it just me or do more and more athletes screw up common phrases, sayings and cliches as the days does by.

I hope Stefon Johnson makes a full recovery from his ankle injury and I am just using him as an example because he's the latest one I saw completely screwing up a phrase.

@stafon13: Thank u 2 everybody that sent up a prayer 4 me this is jus another bump in the round

Maybe it's always been the case, but I think it's just about once a week now that I hear one of these players say something that makes me say 'What the heck did he just say?'.

My favorite is, I don't remember who said it, a basketball player who made a shot with his left hand. He said good thing I'm amphibious meaning ambidextrous. :laugh2:

My guess is he made this post from a phone that had word completion. He was trying to write road, but it completed as round.

BaD Radio on the Ticket used to do a segment on this on a fairly regular basis. They called it "Butchered Cliches". They still play some on their way back from commercials, but I don't listen regularly enough now to know if they still do a segment.

It was always hilarious.

Juwan Howard "it's like adding fuel to the oven"

Dikembe Mutombo "they are just mad because this series has not been a walk in the cake"

That would be a typo.

I do hope you know the difference.

I do, but the expression you're looking for was, "as the days go by". Trying to pass off what you typed as a "typo", is bull****.

The words "does" and "go" share exactly ONE letter, that's HARDLY a "typo"!

Don't get all bent out of shape and sensitive over making a simple mistake dude. I wasn't trying make you look stupid, simply poking fun at you. There IS a difference ya know!?

So just because they are athletes means that they are to be perfect and ****? They are just human like everybody else in this world. Another stupid thread by someone who has nothing else to do but ***** about stupid ****.
