So not only do the braves have the best record in baseball, but they are doing this without Brian McCann, Venters, Brandon Beachy,Freddie Freeman. All of the backups are playing at a very high level.

The Braves have by far the best relief pitching in the league this year, Kimbrel is almost unhittable, and Martinez,OFlaherty, Avilan and crew have allowed 1 inherited run this season so far. During this 10 game winning streak the Braves are tearing up the other teams closers.

Amazing start to the season.:eek::eek:

Yea, they are stacked. My Mets don't have much of a chance. As long as they stay above the over-rated Nats, all is good.

Very good team this year. Only chance my Phils have is if their starting pitching regains their dominant form.

Crazy how were doing it with our backups. Justin Upton has been a complete monster.

Are you in Georgia?

The thing I worry about with the Bravos this year is that, although hitting for power is nice, that doesn't necessarily translate to postseason victories. Upton and Heyward are both hitting way south of .200, and without a guy like Chipper in the lineup to get on base consistently, their offense is really dependent on power. What'd they hit 5 hr last night?

I'm pumped that they are on fire now, and I agree that their pitching is fantastic, but I'm concerned that they won't be able to continue power hitting at nearly the same rate.

They certainly look like they have the ability to take that next step this season, which would be really great as compared the last two years.

We are planning on doing at least one weekend series over the summer. Nats and Cardinals are currently the front-runners.

I know they are 12-1 now but I think I heard that only one MLB team made it to the postseason when a team started the season 11-1.

The Braves from 94 I think started 11-1 also but there was no postseason. We will see when the players come back if it will mess up their chemistry.

Also, keep in mind that they haven't left the east coast yet.

They are going to hit a slump. All baseball teams do. I just hope they build enough cushion to ride it out. Last year's start was horrible and they had some bad losing streaks but they still managed to make a wild card. They need to win the division. The one game play in game is such a crap shot.

Yea but Freeman is an excellent hitter, and BJ is starting to do better since they moved him to leadoff. They have a number of guys like Pena,Schaffer,Simmons who can make contact and get on base. And keep in mind, while Uggla will never hit over .260 he led the majors in walks last year.

The schedule has been pretty easy, but mostly on the road.

Phillies-Home,Cubs-away,Marlins-Away,Nationals-Away,KC-Home,Pirates-Away,Rockies-Away,Tigers-Away,Nationals-Home. That is the first month of the season schedule. Basically all away games. 7 home games out of 26 games this month. Pretty ridiculous to be doing so well almost exclusively on the road.

It will be interesting to see what Fredi does when McCann comes back. I don't see a way he can keep Gattis out of the lineup with his bat and how well he is doing.

Other than that, I really like the bench this year. Pena is a gamer and can get on base and Chris Johnson was an excellent acquisition in my opinion. Juan Francisco has the power at the plate that makes up for his defense most of the time.

I can't remember the last time the Braves have had this much talent on their team. It's pretty good considering that their payroll is near the bottom of the league.

That series was in Atlanta. I think we will know how the team is once they travel to a different time zone.

Noooooo, the streak is over! Man, you hate to see Mike Minor take a loss after pitching such a great game, but the bats just didn't get going for the Bravos today.

These are the exact kinds of games that I worry about with this team that is so dependent on power.

Earl Weaver would love the makeup of this team.

Some very questionable calls today. Apparently the strike zone today was fluctuating as the game went on lol.

12-2 is still a great start. Time to move onto the Pirates!
