Have you seen the Falcons remaining schedule?

vs Dallas
@ Seattle
vs Tampa Bay
vs Minnesota
vs New Orleans
@ Tampa Bay
@ New Orleans
vs Carolina

I must say - the Falcons have to cash in this home game with the Cowboys. Their backs are to the wall. They cannot afford anymore home losses.

This game with the Falcons is going to be tough.

This will be a tough game for Dallas no question about it. I heard that stadium is pretty loud.

Their defense is pretty good, but we've beaten better. Their offense isn't on track. This is a team in trouble. They've already lost four of five. We'll take their best shot, and if we can punch back harder, they're going to collapse. Just can't get caught looking ahead.

Wouldn't say that. Their offense is struggling and is still almost as good as kcs and can be more dynamic. Also the falcons have a way better defense than kc.

Kc is head over heals better than Atlanta in so many areas. I think you are basing your conclusion on last years Atlanta team. This year they are horrible and should have lost to Detroit. Losing their OC has really hurt them. This game wont even be close, as their Defense is like a sieve at stopping the run. There Oline is worse than KC and look what we did to them. Ryan is going to be running for his life, how is he going to hit those receivers? He is really ineffective when he is rushed. There #1 Offensive threat is Julio, on the Atlanta message forum hey are saying Julio might have a high ankle sprain. But we are not sure about Dez and Williams just yet also. I really believe we can put 30+ on them in this game. But I doubt they can score 20 on us. Of course I am basing this on Zeke playing.

They might be feeling desperate but we are in the same boat. We lose this game, it could have big implications on our playoff chances.

Not only we get farther behind the EaGirls, this game will play into the tie breakers for the WC spot since ATL plays NO,SEA, CAR. All of them may be fighting for a WC spot just like us. If our records are tied with any of theses teams, next tie breaker is conference record and then the common opponents.

BTW, most of the ATL fans think they will lose. They all think they will get a big lead in the first half then lose in the 4th quarter. I guess that's how ATL has been all year. I guess they don't know that's how we lost 2 out the 3 games.

Not sure. They haven' played that great but the potential is there. Dallas didn' really have their way with is defense and atls is better.

It is indeed. Been there a couple of times when I lived there over a 3 year period. Although the Falcons fans pay quite a steep premium for tickets and seat licenses and they seem to always target the premium games against marquee teams to sell their tickets and make some of their money back. I had quite a few friends there with season tickets and they would typically only go to 4 out of the 8 home games. Ironically they’d often reserve the live game attendance to the scrub team matchups (e.g., Browns) while selling the tickets for Dallas or Green Bay or Steelers. I thought it was pretty lame but to each his own. Generally I didn’t find Atlanta to be all that great a sports town mainly due to so many transplants down there from other cities. There were times when the NBA Hawks were a top seeded playoff contender and I could just show up at the box office to buy a ticket last minute... for a playoff game!?!

Moral of the story...they will be a TON of our fans there on Sunday. I’d predict around 30,000 or so.

Falcons are third in that division. There’s no way they’re getting back into the race, even if they beat the Cowboys this weekend.

And they’re not going to win this weekend.

The two wildcards will end up being the second place teams in the NFC East and South, most likely Carolina and Dallas.

If the playoffs started today, we’d play the Vikings in Minnesota. Very favorable matchup for us.

Agreed! Hopefully we can jump out to a quick lead and they go ahead and collapse before halftime! :muttley:

This is a tough game to call. Dallas has certainly been playing better football than Atlanta, and has the momentum. Atlanta can't seem to get out of their own heads. I agree with what Terry Bradshaw said last week...that Atlanta just isn't over that SB loss. That one left a mark on them. Losing Shanahan to the 49ers didn't help, but they have far too much talent on offense to be playing as poorly as they have. I keep waiting for them to suddenly wake up, but they haven't yet.

They will undoubtedly be a desperate opponent and we will get their best shot. They know they can't go to 4-5. This will be a difficult game for us. However the two teams are riding opposing waves of momentum and they're flawed on the field and psychology. We cannot be a springboard for them. At the same time we are chasing Philly. This team has no vision of a WC right now. We have been playing desperate since the bye. Big test for us.

They don't "have to", but it would be beneficial.

What I first notice about that schedule, if they can maintain pace with the rest of their division, they truly control their playoff destiny.

It is pretty rare you see a team with all of their divisional games clustered at the end of the season. Five out of their last eight are division games? Can't say I have ever seen that before.

Their loss to Carolina was painful since it was a division loss.
