ATM Machine Theft Rising

Just saw another report on the 10 oclock news about another smash and grab of an ATM machine.

It seems like this happens at least once a week here in Dallas and to the best of my recollection none of these criminals have been caught yet.

You would think that people would start fitting ATM's with GPS and bust these thugs within an hour of the crime.

Thoughts?

The GPS wouldn't help. The theives would have what they wanted probably within 15 mins then would dump the machine.

is it that easy to steal ATM machines?

here is a novel idea, make then so its harder to steal. LOL

No it is hard and most get caught and never get the machine out of the place.

It sounds like someone who knows what they are doing.

This is what happens 90% of the time when they try to steal ATM Machines.

This happen about a 1/2 mile from my house at a Walgreens

Crooks drive truck threw front window of store jump out try to grab ATM machine it is way to heavy for them to lift (yep you have to have proper equipment to get it out) Truck gets stuck guys have to run leaving the truck behind and then get nabbed.

(Know some HPD officers and they have said I been to more scenes like that then you would believe)
