I know on a board with Zeppelin, Van Halen, the Stones and Pink Floyd, all of which I love and have multiple albums near to hand, on the tile ten posts, something as weird and off center as atmospheric death metal likely has no place, but whatever. I post for my own amusement.

I saw @Hardline post about Dream Theater, who I also like a lot, so maybe someone will give it a listen.

Don’t click if any of the above sounds like you’ll hate it :)

All that being said, in any given day I listen to about 10 different genres of music. This is just right now and it changes every week or so.

I listen to a *lot* of music. Like 8-10 hours a day.

Super wide ranging

60’s psychedlic rock and roll
70’s rock an roll and Soul
80’s new wave
90’s shoegaze
00’s hip hop
10’s Electronic-edm
2000’s - turn me on!

Country and the tons of other stuff in my Spotify.

Could I just post freebird and get likes? Sure, but where’s the fun in that and that’s Risens gig anyway.

So, maybe 0-1 will like it :)

Sorry for the video. This is such a deep dive genre that a-tier video sources don’t often exist. The music is right but obviously the actual video is just the best I could do without linking to Spotify or YouTube premium which lots of folks don’t have.

You lose nothing by just ignoring the visual part.

I am a big fan of Atmospheric Black Metal as well as symphonic black metal and the 2nd wave of TRVE CVLT Black metal such as Mayhem,Dark Throne and Emperor all the way back to Venom and Bathory.
I have a very wide range of musical taste from Big Band,1920s Jazz to Outlaw country and Red Dirt country.
Disco to Trance.
Symphonic Metal like Nightwish and Epica
Japanese girl metal from Baby Metal .Bandmaid and Lovebites.
I basically will listen to just about anything that's not in the mainstream.

Burzum. An incredible one man band. So dark, so badass.

It doesn’t get more metal than stabbing dudes who you think aren’t as metal as you are.

Not advocating the violence, but none of us can really know *** was going on in that scene.

Was it just petty squabbles gone wrong? Drugs and alcohol induced? Likely.

But these nuts were seemingly true believers so who know what was going on in their heads.

He did time and is definitely no hero, but he was metal as f… and the music stands up 30’years later.

@Hardline

Digging it. Thanks for the links.

A buddy of mine and I had a fun discord session where we listened to your suggestions.

He’s German so he had lots of feedback!

It’s a step back from some of the ferocity we’ve shared but have you ever jammed to Coheed and Cambria?

They’re so cross-genre that a half dozen music fans may have found them through different avenues, but I’ve found myself digging in a bit. I’ve got some of the amory wars comics and it gives another way to mix medias.

I’ll link YouTube, like we’ve done, but also will link Spotify since the quality and access without ads is a plus.

YouTube link is live fore guitar sessions
