I watched a few games or I should say a few portions of games this weekend and I did not see one team that was as loose and seem to be having as much fun as the Cowboys players and Coaches especially.

I mean Garrett, Stewart and Phillips reguraly had grins on their faces on the sidelines. Everybody looked like they were having fun.

I personally think that is a very good thing and will serve the team well this season. The game should be fun, and I know that fun and loose attitude won't be as evident during the real games but it was a bit refreshing.

Like Willie Mays said, the ump doesn't say "Work ball", he says "Play ball."

Football is a lot more physical than baseball, of course. It's harder work, and when you're hurt and tired, it's no picnic. But there's a reason why kids play pickup games in the park for hours and high school and college kids play for free: Because it's fun.

As long as the team is disciplined and playing hard, there's absolutely nothing wrong with players enjoying themselves. Why would anyone want it any other way?

It's all part of the positive vibe they have now. Let's see what happens when things don't go their way. That will be a much more telling sign.

I'm more intrested in the fans reaction when we lose our first game. I'm looking for a full scale meltdown. But who knows

I've never heard that before. Great stuff.

Did you check out when Parcells coached his first Cowboys game?

Honestly, this is just the lovefest that teams go through when there is a coaching change.

Parcells way was refreshing when he first arrived. Wade's way is refreshing to the players after Parcell's heavy-handedness.

Like BDC said, if they win, then it's all gravy. But if they lose, and they lose remotely like what went on the last 5 games of last year, then we'll see the true measure of this team.

That is probably true.

Funny wathcing Gibbs on the sideline, he looked flat out miserable IMO. It should not be that way but the pressure gets to be too much I guess so it happens.

I always thought that Aikman never looked like he was having fun playing the game. I think that is one of the reasons I like Romo so much, He just seems to be enjoying himself out there, like Favre did in his prime. Although Favre was a big rival in the 90's , and I got sick of hearing about him, he was fun to watch because of the attitude he had playing the game.

I had never seen a team as happy as I did when we won that Monday night giants game in Parcells first year.

I had the Cowboys rated as a 97% fun factor on the first preseason game.

By comparison, the Commanders were at 50% for the first playoff game, but they spiked to 100% right after taking the lead and it continued that way until the end of the game.

Scientifically, we were higher. But the Commanders reached a higher peak than we did.

Everyone was pretty happy on the sidelines down in Carolina at the end of Romo's first start.

That was a happy team and a happy head coach! IMO

Yah, but the results that season were 10-6 with Quincy Carter at QB and a hamsandwich starting at RB. Sign me up for some more of that lovefest.

Unfinished business... thats this years motto...
I gotta tell ya... I noticed the same thing and I was pumped... the silver looks shinier, the stars seems to be shining brighter... and we seem focused...

There was a time when the Dallas Cowboys ruled the NFL... its happening again

This is one of the truer statements on this site. No one seems to remember the excitement surrounding the arrival of Parcells.

IMO, very few quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League, took their job as seriously as Troy Aikman. I respected the hell out of him for practicing that aspect of his game and I still do.

I do, that's why I'm not all wishy washy on the new regime.

The bottom line is that, as when Parcells came in, we have some new hope and new excitement and the promise of some positive changes.

But hope, and excitment and the promise of positive changes are not proof of anything - we have to see it on the field for it to be real.

Let's hope it proves to be real.
