He's still out there and it has been rumored he will not be going back to the Niners. Any interest?

I thought he was one of the top NT's in the league? Surprised he's still available.

Is he any good? I think he is still young. I remember hearing some good things a while back but if he was all that and a bag of chips why are the Phoney Whiners letting him walk?

They're not letting him walk, he doesn't want to return.

That sounds better. Wonder how much he wants or if they will let him walk? Is he good? NT or DT?

NT 6-1 317 Really good player, Niners fans raved about him.

I say get him, Elam, and Cromartie, and call it a day. Guys, people are saying they don't want Cromartie because of his kids and baby mommas, but last I checked, none of them line up on Sunday. In order for Rob to get creative, you have to have the pieces. As soon as Newman pulls up with his hamstring, the "rueage" will begin.

He'd be great if you're on the Ratliff-to-DE bandwagon. Costly, perhaps.

If he was signed at NT would that move Ratliff to DE? I wouldn't mind that.

We could go back to a 4-3 at times if we signed him. I'm for it.

That's what I'm thinking, Rob isn't really married to any one scheme he just puts the best players out there and makes it work. Whether that means plugging Franklin at NT and sliding Rat to DE in a 3-4 or running some 4-3, I think we would do both.

The baby momma thing is a small part of the puzzle. He is a head case, a very poor/unwilling tackler and a cancer in the locker room. Just the kind of player we used to go after and now I hope we avoid.

Aside from the fact that he's looking for a deal that pays him top 10 starter money and the fact that we aren't looking for another NT, this seems like a great idea.

I'm all for it, I said it a few days ago let's sign Aubrayo Franklin, slide Ratliff to DE and rotate 4 linemen in and out.

& how about Olin Kreutz? we can slide Gurode to Guard..

As for our secondary? uhhh yeah about that - Cromartie is not coming here, Huff resigned with oakland, I'm not sold on Elam but it's w/e if we sign him.. I wouldn't mind Whitner he is NOT that bad ( 104 tackles is impressive )

He's a good player. I'm all for Ratliff going to DE.

Getting this guy would improve our d-line against the run and our pass rush because Rat would be on the outside and another DT in a 4-3 and 4-6 alignment.

I would like to add Franklin, Elam and possibly Cromartie to this defense. I feel we would be vastly improved.

TY Warren is also out there just wanting the vet minimum it sounds like and for some reason we have not made that move. Something has to be stirring up because that move make too much sense unless Rat would be going there.

Elam we could do a 2 year offer as that's basically what he's been playing on with his last 2 teams.

Cromartie would command 4-5 years for sure.

Warren a 2 year.

Franklin maybe a 3-4 year as NT's can play into their early 30's very effectively.
