I like it as long as he doesn’t go crazy and get the yips. If he stays at his level of production I like the contract. I was fearing a 10 million APY due to France being the agent. So I’m happy with it.

I did a ''WTH' seeing that he's the highest paid kicker in the NFL, but after reading the fine print, it doesn't seem so bad.

I’m following the @Reality plan and not paying him until he proves it for real. It’s way cheaper in the long run.

A 2nd rounder would have been nice.

It was never going to happen, kickers are making 60 yard field goals these days so teams are not going to trade a 2nd rounder for a kicker

I can it that way too in a perfect world. If we had a better GM with better negotiating skills then I would fully agree. I like this signing because I’m weighing the different dynamics: Jerry usually overpays for his own players,Jerry usually lets these things become a distraction. I like the low key signing with minimal attention.

Now with that being said I would have rather gotten a 2nd rounder for him or let him play out this year but if we did let him play out this year and he’s awesome keeping him would have been more expensive. So I can see it both ways.

But the overall thing I’m happy about is some behavioral changes lately. Jerry let Schotty pick his own DC and our first major contract issue was settled pre-draft. I’m almost more excited about that than the actual signing. Any glimmer of hope for organizational change is welcoming for me.
