Here's Todd Archer on KTBB.com talking with David Smoak...

Archer on KTBB.com

Pendergast. Well he's not a 3-4 guy. Not sure his name was mentioned by Clayton for anything besides the fact that he was here a while back.

I think it's going to be Grantham too.

Canty? Gone if you are asking me. There would already be a deal in place if the Cowboys were willing to give him anything close to what he's looking for.

Burnett? 50/50. I think it depends on what other teams offer him.

Keith Davis. He will probably be back.

Miles Austin. I really hope the Cowboys bring him back. Especially if they get rid of T.O. because he's the only other guy to stretch the field who is already on the roster.

Terrell Owens. Do everything in the world to keep him...

As far away from the 2009 Dallas Cowboys as you can! lol.

That's a great point about Ray Lewis playing the same spot as Bradie James. I like Ray Lewis, but I am not going all crazy trying to get the Cowboys to bring him in next season.

Jerry Jones better not screw it up. Let Canty and Burnett walk. Ray Lewis isn't what Dallas needs. IF T.O. is the problem then cut him and move on but of course the cap hit will prohibit that from happening.

I hate the Ray Lewis rumors.

The guy already proved he's a poor fit in a 3-4 defense.

If the team's looking for 'leadership', get a better coach.

One with some leadership ability.

And the coach won't count against the salary cap.

I hope Canty goes becsue they'd have to grossly overpay to keep him.

Burnett is a good role player who should be paid like one.

If someone wants to risk paying him as a starter, he can get hurt for them.

And I think Owens brings more on the field than he does off the field.

If the coaches can't handle him, get new coaches.

Does no one actually watch other teams play? Not even when we're playing them?

I was referring to Lewis' past struggles taking on offensive linemen when the Ravens first switched from the 4-3 days with Adams and Goose in front of him.

He prefers to be the bully rather than getting bullied by the big guys up front.

But he's done well in Rex Ryan's 46 version of the 3-4 but I'm not as sure he'd do as well in Wade's version.

The Ravens don't play a 46, or any version of it. They play a 3-4.

Yeah, yeah, I look at them.

And I see the depth charts too.

But my point was that I think Baltimore's 3-4 is a bit different from our own.

It's probably the closest thing to ours in the entire league.

the only real difference in the base alignment is Rex used another NT in Ngata replacing the RE.

So you think Lewis would be a good fit for the Cowboys?

Sans the monster contract, yes. Who, other than you, wouldn't?

Yeah, which I feel helped Ray not have to mix it up with offensive linemen as much.

Dallas doesn't have guys like Ngata and Kelley Gregg so I don't think Lewis would do as well.

I remember Lewis struggling with the change to 3-4 and not liking it as much as the 4-3 days with Adams and Siragusa.

Too bad you can't separate the 'monster contract'.

I've seen plenty who don't want him in Dallas.

This is what my sources tell me too. Ray was quite instrumental in changes to that defence to get the olineman away from him and free him up to roam about.

I am suprised clancy pendergast is being brought up. I know he has ties here, which makes me more nervous. But isnt jim haslett a better coordinator than pendergast? Imo I think he is.

I am suprised no one has hired him and we are not interested. Unless grantham is a foregone conclusion.

You remember Lewis *****ing about it several years ago. Then he stopped because he realized he was wrong and played lights out as usual.

Kelly Gregg missed the whole season for the Ravens and look how far they went with numerous other injuries. Ray also put on more muscle last season to deal with being a MLB in the 3-4.
