Audio: Ben & Skin: Drew Pearson on Leadership & Romo's Hat

I'm old school and agree with Drew completely on all counts. I think Tony can do the job. I think the team has confidence in him. I also think he needs to get the hat on straight AT PRESS CONFERENCES.

I can never tell whether I'm just not smart enough to see that people are joking about the hat thing.

You guys are joking about it, right?

pretty sad when people are still talking about the hat thing isn't it..:bang2:

What the he!l does a hat have anything to do with leading a football team & playing the QB position? Might as well call out Jason Witten-Miles Austin-Dez Bryant-saw Ogletree running a route in practice today with a hat backwards..

I wasn't kidding and neither was Pearson. No one, at least not me, says it has ANYTHING to do with PLAYING the game. He was talking about handling yourself like a professional and how you present yourself as the leader of your football team. I agree with Drew. Apparently the NBA does too, to some degree, because they changed the way their players could appear when conducting press conferences.

The funny thing is that Drew made a fortune selling team caps.

By the way BBgun, I just got the 1970 Lions at Cowboys playoff game (DVD). Great quality. Do you have that one?

Were they without bills? ;) :)

I hope so. It is VERY unprofessional to wear a head covering that also covers the neck. Head coverings should ONLY shield the FACE from sunlight.

yup like Kevin Durant wearing geeky glasses and backpacks promoting himself for example..... right? lol, maybe times will change again one day but the only ones I ever see with the problem are the over 40-50 crowd.. I really don't think Romo cares about appealing or how he presents himself to that crowd or to any crowd for that matter. He is a classy dude who plays football and likes to wear his hat backwards WOW

I tell you who looks unprofessional...That Jason Witten. Heck he does not even bother wearing a helmet while making a great play.

The NFL is just now taking concussions serious while Pearson was well ahead of the game with added protection.

Nice acquisition. No, I don't own it. I recently posted highlights from the 1971 Monday nighter against the NYG if you missed it.

I'm sure you are aware that the NBA did set standards for interviews. What exactly they are I'm not sure, but I know they did.

And in terms of the 40-50 crowd, I would simply remember that most of those people have a lot more experience than a 23 year old and still offer a little wisdom :) At least they should. I have 3 sons. They are all under 26. They are all very successful, and I've taught them to conduct themselves in a way that demonstrates some class and dignity. I'm not saying Tony doesn't do that. Nor am I saying that a backwards hat is a sin. I'm simply saying, present yourself in a way that reflects your position. That shouldn't be a generational thing, it should be something that we all learn.
