Bill Bates on Irvin Show
------------------------------------

Great stuff.

And who didn't get run over by Herschel Walker, lol.

Still in shock over the Dan Reeves not coming to Dallas stuff, but this will take your mind off of it for about 20 minutes.

Maybe.

This team drives me nuts.

:laugh1:

To this day, I'm the biggest bill bates fan there is. I just love the guys attitude and his work ethic. Tough as nails too.

He is everything a football player should be in my eyes. I even chose to wear #40 in high school because of him.

I think he belongs in the ring of honor.

I remember he hit so hard they used to have to replace his helmets, often...:starspin

I had his jersey back in the day and people used to ask me who Bates was?

Used to make me mad that people didn't realize he was a big part of the team even if he wasn't a Super Star.

His first preseason game, they had him returning punts. The first punt he recieved, he literally put his head down and ran straight up the field not knowing what was in front of him. He got hit so hard he got knocked out.

The heart Bates had was huge. Lets face it, he wasn't the most talented guy in the NFL, but sheer heart, and work ethic kept him in the league for 15 years. When we won the SB, I've never been so happy for someone to get a ring than him, even though he was sidelined with an injury.

Thats why I said earlier I want him in the ring of honor. A guy with heart the size of Texas. He's everything a football player should be.
