James on The Ticket
------------------------------

No one on this team will stop talking.

:bang2:

Seems Bradie would like more than just Brian Stewart out of town.

I still can't believe Bradie had 8 sacks this season.

Good point about guys not accepting their roles on this team.

Sounds like he is still hot about the team not having a meeting to end the season either. Which was pretty weird. And I don't think Wade came off well with his players by not addressing the team when the season ended.

The word discipline and the Dallas Cowboys don't mix well.

I like Bradie, but he copping out here by trying to blame the media. Other players have already said there were problems. Seems like he's just playing the 'Wade Phillips Game'.

Now we can't believe everything the media says, but to act like the media now supposed to name every source it has because this team has problems is just ridiculous.

Win games and the media will have nothing to say, but that the team won.

But Brady, how many times were guys late? 10 or 100? He doesn't answer the question.

You know what. I am disappointed in this interview and I really don't see this guy being much of a team leader anymore. He seems to like to reach into the 'excuse bucket' like the rest of this team.

Got this audio from DC.com

The interview just ends?

After listening to the interview, this is an even bigger non-story than I thought it was in the transcript thread. Don't get the James hate, though.

Not hating on him. I just wish he didn't get into the same game as some of these guys that the media is making up stories.

There are leaks in the locker room.

If anything be mad at that fact. Not that the media is doing it's job.

Like I said. If the team had their crap together and didn't flop again the media wouldn't have so many leaks where guys are spilling the beans about possible reasons why they stunk this year.

Ware's recent comments seem to be him growing into more of a leadership role.

While James' comments in here seem to be him regressing from the leadership role.

I like bradie james. I think he is a leader in the locker room, but who really knows who is what with this group.

And I am confused about his final comments, is he implying he wants more players gone or the head coach?

I haven't listened to the interview (my job blocks it) but I would have been very upset as well if my head coach had just left us hanging at the end of the season without addressing us

and remember after either a big win or a big loss this season (I honestly can't remember which game), Wade was asked what he said to the team after the game and he goes "well, not much, there wasn't really anything to say" or something along those lines...

this team needs locker room leaders because we don't have any on the coaching staff

JJT just told norm that all of the players he talked to want more discipline and they want to know what is going on, they feel like they dont know what is happening.

Pretty sad.

and he added that from what he knows, reeves would be brought in here so that wade has an ally when he goes into talk with jerry. I really find that disturbing.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to imply you were hating. I was just referring to general Bradie James hate. There are quite a few on this board who can't forgive Bradie for not being an immediate starter when he came out, and that carries over to this day, when he's a good player for us.

One possibility: Wade not meeting with the players at the end of the season has had one intended effect - some are uneasy/upset. And that flies in the face of Wade being the good uncle.

It may not work, but it has had an effect on some.

Pretty clearly there's something brewing this offseason, and it just hasn't happened yet. There may be good reasons for keeping players in the dark, and it's not surprising that they don't like the current uncertainty. But everything will be worked out before anyone gets on a practice field again.

I'll discount JJT's thoughts about Reeves as moral support for Wade out of hand, b/c that just doesn't make any sense. That has to be someone's characterization. Adding an experienced offensive consultant is a good thing for this staff.

The James stuff is interesting, though, b/c it does give some perspective on how the defense must view this situation. Once they got healthy, they were a good unit. While on offense, you add a big salary to a set WR unit, watch that player not deliver, maybe lose Chris Canty--a player who as a personality is all you want for your team--because you can't afford to pay him, then fire the *defensive* coordinator without first really addressing anything on offense. It's no wonder they're confused right now. Wait-and-see is probably the best attitude we can expect from the defense while our front office figures out its next moves.

Did he say "we're second place to whoever wins the championship"? I'm not sure Bradie understands how this whole playoffs thing works.

I didn't listen to what was said, but to me it's irrelevant as I made up my mind on Bradie a while back. While Bradie is a good player, I think he is a dirt bag. He talks to the media two ways. One he does it with his name attached, and he does it anonymously. He is one of the players that hold animosity towards players and coaches and he is also a "Misery loves Company" type of person. Meaning he likes to get into his "clique" and ***** and moan relentlessly. That does nothing but spread his negativity to other players in the Cowboys organization.

Get rid of him. Hell, trade him, he has value. Keep Thomas, and find a young guy with a lot of upside and have Thomas take him under his wing day and night.

Funny, Parcells would always leave players in the dark about things. In fact, not speaking to them after a bad year sounds exactly like something he'd do. Like zeromaster said, he'd do it to keep them on edge.

But now with Wade, this means he's a coward and it's a huge negative that the players aren't fully informed about what the organization is planning?

That has nothing to do with this situation, Parcells never had a locker room mess like this and a coaching situation where the players are revolting and their underlying race issues.

Wade phillips is part of the locker room problems. Not the main problem but a part of it. He has never ducked the media before and him and jerry ducking it now is cowardly.

IF the season had ended at 9-7 and we played well but didnt make the playoffs I would have no problem with wade not talking to anyone or changing his approach, I just happen to think this is a time where some stuff needs to be settled.

.

Ah, so that must mean the roster just suddenly developed underlying race issues when Wade got here, because the majority of the roster is from the Parcells era. So Parcells is not only a great coach, he is the next coming of Martin Luther King Jr.
