Bryan Broaddus breaks down some stuff on the Raiders game and the upcoming battle with the Giants...

There is no way the Giants use the same defensive game plan the Raiders use because the Cowboys tore up that man coverage scheme. The Packers had success using it because they were also blitzing from a 34 defense and the Cowboys were making all kinds of mistakes in picking up the pass rushers.

And on the other side of the ball it's a good sign that the Cowboys secondary got it together after that disaster against the Giants. I don't think I could have watched a season's worth of poor play where teams are just throwing it all over the place and picking up first downs.

Doug Free. We are counting on you kid. Get ready to play the best five games so far in your young career.

The Giants don't have the personnel to run man-to-man in the secondary anyways. I don't expect much blitzing from them as their linebackers aren't that good at it (save Kiwinuka) and also their safeties are coverage-challenged to begin with. If I were putting money on it, they'll do their normal pressure with the front four and will move their lineman around for mis-matches.

What Romo has to do a better job of that he didn't in the first matchup is reading their disguised coverages. Of course, not having to face Ross and Phillips and drawing Rouse and Terrell Thomas will be a big help.

Its insanity to line your corners up every down in the face of the wr meanwhile having your linebackers about 2 inches from the defensive lineman.

I couldnt believe what I was seeing in the stadium last thursday.

Easier said than done. If there is a organization that responds well to adversity, they are it. I don't know how much this behavior in the past is their staff or the players simply putting chips on their shoulders, but they have done it for years.

Hopefully they are just exhausted, beat up and beaten down. They gave up in Denver and nobody denied it, which is good for us.

They have had a lot of injuries and don't have a lot of the defensive inspirational leadership (Spagnuolo and Pierce) that they once had. I also think they went a little overboard disrupting chemistry with the Boley and Canty signings, neither of which are paying off much. Adding two low key players with big money tends to reduce a little of the "hunger" factor I think they had developed there. Adding "stars" (big money) isn't always the best way to construct a team with a lot of heart. We should know.

Yeah if your Offensive line gets any kind of protection than your defense is going to get lit up in the NFL.

With the way the NFL has slowly gone to more of the spread offense you just can't run man coverage like that unless you wanna get toasted.

yep. To me, it wasnt so much the secondary as it was the linebackers.

I just dont understand what they were trying to do. As we saw, if anyone gets to the second level there is no one there. It was as if the second level didnt exist against the raiders.

I could see maybe coming out and trying to pressure us, seattle did that and they were good with it....but you cant have your linebackers breathing on the linemans neck all day.

how in the world did philly and cincy lose? I guess because they couldnt run the ball? Seems crazy to me.

Yeah I agree its easier said than done. Im just feeling optimistic on this Wednesday morning.

I think everyone thought Canty was good but he got overpayed. I think Dallas has a lot of guys like that though if they were to hit the open market then they would get a big deal like that.

I have a prediction that at some point the Giants will cut Canty and we will bring him back.

The whole offensive line has to play well DC, because Canty, Osi and Tuck are going to come after the cowboys.

We should be able to throw on the giants, but the offensive line, Te's and backs must block well to giving Romo time to throw. Roy Williams must catch those passes, no more excuses for him now too.

And the defense must be ready because remember they threw well on us first game.
