Good to know the Cowboys had some conversations with Golden Tate at the Combine...

Golden Tate on Sirius NFL Radio

First team he mentions when asked about interviews: Dallas Cowboys.

He's going to produce in the NFL. When you can make plays like he did with heart and determination, not to mention the size and speed, it's going to translate on the next level.

The Cowboys will not have a shot at him late in Round Two. So either they have no options at LT or Safety when they come up at #27 or they trade back up into the early part of Round Two to grab him.

Since he played in a Pro style offense at Notre Dame I think he's going to be more 'game ready' than a lot of the WR's coming out this year who are not accustomed to running precision routes. If there are a bunch of teams thinking he can step right in and play the slot WR or maybe even win the #2 job in training camp he's a goner in round one.

The WR position is always trickier come draft time.

Latest mocks I have seen have him gone 15-20, long gone by 27.

I like Tate a lot. But, I would rather get Shipley instead of back or up (which we wouldn't do anyways).

It's funny, a lot of people had him shooting up draft boards after his 40 but he looked very pedestrian in drills so now depending on where you look he either jumped up the draft boards or is suffering a little free fall

well most I've seen have him going 29 to Jets. He might be a sleeper pick for Jerry though, if Thomas and Iupati aren't on the board.

In general I am seeing Iupati and Tate 15-20. The guys who are falling to mid 20s are Bryant, Weatherspoon, and Thomas. The film watchers will see Tate is a play maker from a pro style offense. I will be shocked if he is there at 27.

well if teams take Tate before Bryant then IMO thats just stupid, his character concerns aside. And all the better if they do, Thomas will continue to fall. Houston and Cincy are the only other threats right now to take him.

You think there's any chance he hurt himself on pro draft boards? I think he did nothing but help himself, pro teams aren't going to knock him for any lapses during drills at the combine after watching tape of him.

we don't need any more receivers unless they can return the crap out of a kickoff.

The only way I would take Tate is if we traded out of the 1st round and picked up an extra 2nd.

Golden Tate and Nate Allen/Maurkice Pouncey?

who cares how they get him, he'll put this team over the top. Address FS in free agency and O line in rounds 2-3-4. Great value later on.

Golden won't make it out of the 1st round. Heck, someone may take him before Dez. Golden is a Steve Smith clone. He's built like him, and has the same playmaking ability as Steve. Once he catches the ball, he turns into a hard to tackle, hard to catch, running back type WR that has extrodinary vision and instincts. Golden is just as competitive as Steve, except he's more disciplined and won't get those dumb ejection-type penalties. If Thomas (FS) is gone, then Golden is my choice. He's going to impact the moment he steps on the field. The guy is truely magical. Get er done JJ.

I really like Golden Alot... He is from my hometown..Sumner County he played for Pope John Paul is high school, I got to see him many times there and let me say this he is a heck of a ball player. Nice speed and every good haands and atheltic as they come!! He could be a good return man, Ive seen him return 3 kickoffs back in one game granted that was in high school 4-5 years ago. He is most DEF a man now. I would be very very excuited to see a hometown boy on the Cowboys!

There are not many guys I drool over but this guy might be one. I watched a lot of Notre Dame games this year and this guy just catches balls. He catches some that he has no business catching too in traffic. Like Miles he's got those running back type legs, making him deceptively strong. The kid has a good attitude too.

And come on...Golden Tate...GOLDEN Tate...it's got the sexy ticket selling name Jerry would love and you know it. This kid is far from a breakfast cereal. He could be our Desean Jackson.

Also, I lol'd when someone said the Belushi little chocolate donuts thing. Hilarious.

No skill player is going to put this team over the top more than giving Romo more time to throw.
