Jerry Rhome on GAC
----------------

He played a big part in turning Troy Aikman into a HOF QB.

Very good discussion on here about the idea that the college game affects the Pro game.

Rhome says it's no big deal.

But he mentions Kevin Kolb, Vince Young, Troy Smith and Chase Daniel as reference players and none of them have made the conversion into a good NFL player so far.

I think it's more to the point that players are far from ready to do anything in the NFL right away.

They are just raw potential.

He loves James Casey.

Hey Jason Boltus and Drew Willy were both on my pet cat list.

Johnson Commends Rhome...

Jimmy Johnson, former coach of the Dallas Cowboys: "But I benefited from having Rhome as a coach, and he really helped Aikman that first year. Aikman benefited from having two outstanding coaches. To this day, if I had not had Rhome and Turner, I think we would have won games, but I'm not sure we would have won the Super Bowls that we did. That's how important that position is..."

He wasn't talking bad about them. He's actually worked with all those guys and mentioned that it really doesn't take much to teach them how to take the snap from center but teams want to see them show they can do it.
