If the Cowboys want to add some spice to their punt/kick return units in 2010 then Mardy Gilyard is the target in the draft...

Mardy Gilyard on Sirius NFL Radio (only caught last 4.5 minutes)

He's lighting quick and he's a proven commodity as a returner.

The big question is whether or not he's big enough to handle being a WR on the NFL level. At 5'11, 171lbs he will not definitely not be running over any CB's or Safeties. We have seen guys like him excel recently though, example would be DeSean Jackson, so the Cowboys may surprise some and go after a player like this in the draft. Most fans don't feel the need to look for a WR in April, but his return skills add another dimension to his game that cannot be overlooked.

I also know there are some character concerns being talked about with him, read here. If that's all I am worried about is an arrest back in high school for some weed then I don't think it's a big deal at this point in time.

Right now his stock is looking like late first to second round. Depending on what he runs at th combine he may just be available to the Cowboys in the second round. If he's there at #59 the Cowboys should grab him.

I love this guy. Provides immediate help and explosion in the return game. Could help in the slot too.

After seeing what Desean Jackson is doing I know longer worry about WR's size.

The NFL has made its rules to where guys like that are actually at an advantage.

Gilyard may or may not be a good player in this league but either way his outcome wont be because of his size.

I personally think he will be a stud but I would rather take someone like Shipley or Ford in the 4th to be role players for us who can make big plays on limited opportunities.

Good point.

Smaller receivers can have success in the NFL with the rules gradually favoring the passing game. All you have to do is have solid moves off the lines and beat a five-yard press or bump coverage.

I'm not too big on taking wide receivers in the first round, but the Cowboys don't have many holes to fill.

OT, FS, WR, NT - those seem to be the top draft priorities.

Golden Tate outta Notre Dame would be nice too. But I'd have to agree they need an OT or NT before WR.
