Audio: Roy: ‘Now I have to go try and get 251′

Yesterday roy was on the hardline with corby and mike.

He brought up that last year everytime a play was called for him, in the huddle "Switch" was called so owens would be the target. From the way he said it I thought he was implying romo called that.

The hardline didnt really want to talk to him and mike just hurried him along, there was no followup question so I am still kind of baffled by him saying that.

I will say this though, the more he talks the more he fits right in with this team and this coaching staff at this time.

How about we create a script of acceptable words, phrases, facial expressions, sideline actions, body postures, etc that we can pass along to the team.

We will insist that all demeanor be taken from this list, and we can also include situational examples if when to use each pre-determined form and answer.

Then people will be happy, right?

Oh, wait....

So we don't hear players all the time throw out the 'great' word in describing players/coaches who we all know aren't great?

:laugh2:

Gawd, that accent... Russo is such a beating for a non-northeasterner to listen to.

Though he probably is for a lot of them, too. :)

So when I make fun of Wade because of his drawl it's a problem.

But you killing a guy from NY is ok?

Classic.

Hey dont lump him in there with all of us. No one can stand that guy.

His voice is not new yorker, its just distinct on its own.

I have never been able to tolerate him for more than 5 minutes. I remember I was home for a wedding on the night of the giants cowboys in 06, the romo bledsoe game.

The next day I watch russo and francessa go nuts on romo being terrible and having no chance. I remember both of them saying Dallas will have to trade up in the draft to get a qb, and I can remember cowboys fans calling the show and being respectful and asking what he did was so bad. Russo just was relentless. He just kept saying over and over that romo has no skills to be in the nfl, no arm, not smart enough...etc etc...

all that based on nothing. He is such a blowhard. That is why when BAD Radio plays clips of him basically crying on air about being the LOWEST rated channel of ANY channel on sirius it is simply amazingly funny. He came in behind stations that play like weather sounds!!!!!!! the ocean and the wind and stuff!!!!!!!!

anyway, dont lump him in with northeasterners, I have never met a single person from the state of NY or the city of ny who sound like him. He is like a super hyped up ADD kid.

It's not that he's from New York. You don't talk like that... Theebs doesn't talk like that... Other people I've known from up there aren't at that extreme.

This would be more like someone making fun of Randy Galloway for talking like a hick... Which he does. But of course not everyone from Texas talks like he does. (And Galloway is a beating for even those of us who have heard plenty of other people who talk just like him.)

How did I know you'd take this personally, though, DC? Aren't you always telling everyone else to toughen up?

I mean, the dreaded six smilies!

Gonna post again since theebs' post wasn't up when I did the previous one...

Exactly. That's what I mean. It's the 100 miles an hour plus the ADD plus the little lisp.

No doubt about it. He is the worst.

The worst thing about him is is his obsession with the sf giants. Thats all he ever talked about. I never understood why he didnt move there and do a show

Holy back pedaling Batman! You used the word accent. And the term Northeasterner ???

Personally?
:lmao2:

Just pointing out your hypocracy of telling me I don't like Wade because he sounds like an idiot. I don't like Wade because he's a terrible head coach.

I think he hates the Yankees more than he likes the Giants, lol.

no question.

hey did you post the roy interview from yesterday when he was on the ticket with the hardline?

he threw that comment out there again about the "switch" in the huddle and I am curious if everyone else takes it the way I did, that he was blaming romo.

He is. That's Vince Russo.

Vince Russo the pro wrestling writer???

And to TS, is the word good really a big deal, or are you just an A&M fan?

251 yds!! ??

Roy, .. stop worrying about personal goals. Think TEAM!!

Guarantee MA was only thinking TEAM when he had his big day.

Roy, .. think ~ ~ "catch the ball, hold on to the ball, move the chains, get first downs, score in the red zone" ~ ~, ... all TEAM goals.

If you do all of those things, fans will love you no matter how many yards you get a game.

LOL, feel free to get 251 any time you want though. :laugh2:

That has already been done in so many aspects of life, such as this forum, that it kind of makes it hard to joke about.

That what I was thinking.

I wonder how he would feel if Romo said he was a top 20 WR?

Just a thought.

Here's Roy William on with Sirius Radio's Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo yesterday...

Roy Williams on Sirius Radio

Romo is a good QB. Garrett is a good offensive coordinator and will be a good head coach one day. Wade Phillips is a good players coach.

Roy doesn't like the word great I guess.

I do like the competitive comments about now going to get 251. Although I don't ever see it happening. We should see Roy getting a few less double teams now that defenses will have Miles Austin on the radar.

I dont like the comments, its unrealistic (very) and it might make him press. Just relax Roy
