Brad Sham was also talking about T.O. with Larry Brown today on his radio show...

Sham and Brown talk WRs

Wow. That is some great stuff from a legend in Cowboys Nation.

I put up a new thread because a few people killed the other one with BS.

Just another reason to love Brad Sham.

FYI-he said Wade didn't play prevent at the end. It had alot to do with the lack of communication in coverages by the defense.

The entire board was calling for Wade's end b/c he supposedly got too conservative at the end-he said it after he talked about the WRs.

You said how Sham is very accurate in his reporting. He said this wasn't the case, so I thought I would get it out here.

I never said what you said.

I never complained about the defense playing prevent nor did I ever say they played prevent, In fact I question what people consider prevent is.

I don't think his comment was directed at you....could be wrong. I think he was talking to the hundreds roasting Wade yesterday for backing off.

That's some pretty damning stuff from Brad and Larry.

What absolutely amazes me is the lengths that some people will go to in order to defend TO. Yeah, he plays for my favorite team. Yeah, he's someone who can put points on the board and help you win. And yes, you better believe I will be cheering like crazy for him to score those points and help my team...

But you can't really like the guy. I think some of the stuff is overblown simply because it's TO. I think one of the guy's biggest flaws is that he is too honest. But at the same time, he's not honest with himself.

I do think TO has quit on a bunch of routes. When I can see that from my television, it's pretty bad. And I think this team tries too hard to pacify him.

In the end, I just want the team to win. If TO can help them do that, I'll live with the guy. But he's got to help the team win. Whining and complaining while making a spectacle of yourself doesn't help, in my opinion.

hopefully this will be a good thing and he will hear that and try to prove everybody wrong. Thats my boy...but he needs to just shut up & play & go out and prove he is the playmaker he claims to be. & I am still happy to have him, just want him not to be a hypocrite.

somehow TO has made Brad Sham mad because Sham loves the Cowboys
and I have never heard him talk bad about a player the way he is talking about TO.
he isnt real kind to the other players he talks about either.
Those guys have their opinions, and Im sure they are better informed
than me....but I dont totally buy all they are saying.
I will say that I feel there may be repercussions from the Boys about this.
Jerry doesnt much like his radio voices bad mouthing the team.
anyway just my thoughts

when Owens is getting the ball a lot of things can go well. but when he's not he's pouting and not giving his all. hell sometimes he leaves the huddle so early I question if he even knows what play was called. the guy is a little kid with his candy. when he's getting his passes(candy) he's happy and smiling all the time. when he's not getting passes(candy) he's dogging it and pouting. but I don't think getting rid of him will cure anything.

It seems like he and Romo just haven't had the same chemistry since the Packers game last year when he let a TD pass slip through his finger tips into Al Harris-he was having an incredible game up to that point. Since then, he didn't have another 100 yard game until the Niners game a couple of weeks ago.

Yep-the same can be said about Burress in NY-a pouty, immature kid who only smiles when he gets his candy. However-just his presence alone on the field is a HUGE asset. Him being gone has only hurt them. Same with Owens here-cutting him won't be the solution.

but I think if Garrett was a better OC/not so pass happy and if Romo was a better qb we would be better off without him.

I was talking about Burress-without him, the Giants don't have that luxury anymore of facing merely 7 man fronts in their run game while the safety helps out with whoever's covering Plax. The other Giants receivers, especially Hixon, are very good, but they don't command the respect from DCs Burress gets.

And I've said in other threads that even Coughlin did his best to put up with his antics(aside from that 1 game suspension, that is).

The issue with this is that we do have what could be considered another number 1 wideout and the Giants don't. If we let TO go, it'd hurt a little, but you'd still have Roy Williams out there.

I don't get the complaints though. TO quits on his routes. Okay. The balls still would've been intercepted lol. The balls still were horrible. He's still not in motion. Did TO quit on routes last season when he broke Cowboy records? That's why I can't really take these complains serious. Bring up these complaints after a win for once.

That's what I've been trying to say-IF we had hung onto our 13-3 lead in the 4th w/ the Steelers O struggling big time, then all Larry Brown and Brad Sham would be talking about tonight is how our win in Pittsburgh was the best thing since sliced breat, how TO made a great acrobatic catch in the endzone, etc, etc.

Now-I'm shocked that they're not going as for as blaming TO for blowing the 13-3 lead in the 4th!

I thought everybody LIKED what T.O. did on the field?

Whatever happened to "I hate Owenz off da field but on da field, I don't think anybody would ever deny hiz greatnezz1111" or "say what you want about Owens's antics off the field, but on the field, he gives it his all, unlike RANNNNDY MOOOOSSSSsssss?"

What happened to that?

So nobody doubts his play on the field, yet:

1. "He's a great athlete, but a TERRIBLE football player."
2. He is a poor route runner.
3. He doesn't fight for the ball
4. He quits on routes
5. He has awful hands
6. He can't get off the jam

And, get this...

7. He's apparently not a "stretch the field guy" either. Never mind the fact that nobody has caught more deep balls than him over the past 3 years...and that he had 3 deep balls of 40+ yards in one game this year against the 49ers, which in one game alone tops what at least half the starting receivers in the NFL will do in the entire year.

8. He can't make anybody miss after the catch

Terrell Owens--worst teammate ever (!!!111...well, even though everyone on the team questioned says they like him as a person and a teammate and think the media is full of it...but what do they know, right?) but NOBODY questions his play on da field.

He's an old receiver who can't get off the jam and has lost a step, who runs poor routes and doesn't know where to line up. He's also not a deep threat; he made his living off da slantz and crossez in San Francisco and Philly!!!111 Once this big slug who can't get off the jam and can't run routes miraculously gets open, he either drops the ball with his atrocious hands, or quits on his route and lets the defensive back pick it off. If he's thrown the ball when he's not open because of his poor route running, he doesn't battle for the ball. If he manages to catch the ball with his awful hands, he then is unable to make anyone miss after the catch and is immediately brought down.

Owens, Terrell:

937 catches (8th all-time), 13918 yards (6th all-time), 138 receiving TDs (2nd all-time), 140 total TDs (4th all-time).

Owens, Terrell:

55-848-9 (15.4 per catch) with 5 plays of 40+ yards through 13 games...3 of those with Brad "worst QB in NFL history" Johnson starting.

Jordan, Owens doesn't give his all all the time and he's still not a better wr than Randy Moss.

So he trains as hard as any athlete who has ever lived...only to go on the field and not give it his all?

Call me crazy, but I don't really believe that.

Remember the play in week 3 against Green Bay where he was blocked to the ground, but got up and chased Nick Collins about 60 yards downfield to prevent a TD? How many receivers in NFL history have ever even done that once?

I guess they all just didn't try hard enough on the field. CUT THEM!!!
