Jason Witten: 'I think we can do it all together'

Jason Witten's appearance on Michael Irvin's ESPN Radio show started with softball questions about his community service. The Playmaker and Co. didn't take too long before they started firing fastballs, though.

They asked about Jason Garrett. ("I speak for myself, but I think Jason does a wonderful job.")

They asked about Tony Romo. ("He's going to create a standard for what we're going to be about.")

And they asked about T.O. Specifically, they asked Witten whether he was "with T.O." or not.

"Yeah, I'm with him," Witten said. "A lot was made with that, with how I got in the middle of all that garbage. He's a great player. He's shown it for years now that he can play. Even in Dallas, he's one of the hardest workers that we've got. He can create and do so much with us.

"I just think that when you're not winning, so much is brought up, and he's in the middle of that, too. But you know what? The year before that, we were fine. It just goes to getting down and winning.

"I don't know how you guys feel about it, but I think we can do it all together. That's what I'm counting on doing."

Perhaps Witten was making like a politician, giving what he thought was the right answer. He definitely doesn't want any part of being in the middle of another T.O.-related controversy, especially after getting accused of being the "snitch" that fed ESPN's Ed Werder the T.O.-is-jealous story.

But Witten isn't pretending to be pals with T.O. He's just saying that he believes they can be successful as teammates.

"This team has to stay together and understand that it's one goal," Witten said. "You don't have to walk around like a bunch of choir boys holding hands. I believe that, but you do have to have respect for each other and have one goal. That's to win, and I think the good teams do that in this league. That's what we have to do to get there. But I think we have enough guys in our locker room to win and be successful."

Not sure why anyone would change their mind regarding Terrell Owens based upon what Jason Witten stated.

Things sure didn't look fine in Philadelphia the last game of the season.

But like Jerry Jones already stated and his players seem to be regurgitating, "the Coaches and Personnell are in place ******t" .

Hos has just been looking for an excuse to change his mind since he knows T.O.'s not going anywhere, and he didn't want anyone else to have the pleasure of knowing it so he let Witten claim the glory. :laugh2:

Witten is right. I remember my championship years in "flag football", we didn't all go out to dinner or play play station together, but when we were on that field, we were unstoppable.

The reason we were unstoppable is first off because we were talented. Along with that talent, we didn't throw plays away. Everyone executed, we minimized stupid penalties, dropped balls, interceptions, missed assignments.

If you guys are expecting a hug session in the locker room, then you've obviously never played organized sports. You don't have to like each other, you don't have to agree with everything the coaches call, but you do have to do your job on the field, and be best friends on the field.

The one thing I will say about this past season is that it's obvious this team hates to lose. TO hates to lose more than anyone, and when he's losing, he's taking it out on the media, the QB, the cat, the girlfriend, the momma, the television, the coordinator, the remote control, the garbage can, the computer, the tooth brush, and anyone else who's in the way.

I had a nasty attitude on the field. I was thrown out of several games for going after the refs, but off the field, I was loved by everyone including the ref I cussed out during the game. Nothing personal, I just hate losing.

Some of you are the same way. You freaking lose it when we lose a game. You come on here and just go after any and everyone. Nothing personal, you just hate to lose.

This current group of players aren't winning Championships. They have enough trouble making it to the Playoffs.

Furthermore, this current group of players have not shown me any proof that they hate losing. Especially given the fact that when it was all on the line in Philadelphia, they came out and laid a huge gigantic turd.

Your boy in the avatar, embarrassed us on the field last year. I'll take being embarrassed in the press, but if you embarrass me on the field, you're nothing to me.

Yeah I changed the subject - there were times, like in the Steelers game, we almost didn't want Romo to throw the ball anymore, because every time he threw it, something bad happened. If you want to focus on getting to a Super Bowl, my advice would be to start with ya boy.

Even Detroit hated losing. Don't think teams are happy with losing my friend.

So now we have to pick only one player to place all the blame on?

I don't think I am going to go with that plan, but you do what you do.

And don't try to say I blamed T.O. for all this teams problems because it would take us 4 seconds to find threads where I got on the TEAM for failing.

As for embarrassing us on the field last year.

Didn't the Dallas Cowboys embarrass us?

I could have sworn when I read the papers it said Eagles 44, Cowboys 6.

Can you give me the link where it said Eagles 44, Tony Romo 6.
