Austin Dillon #3

I'm a big Dale Jr. fan. Always have been. I was a big Dale Sr. fan before Jr. began killing it at the Busch Series level (Nationwide). To see that Richard Childress is bringing back the #3, and it's his grandson, I can't help but jump on the bandwagon. I think I found my second driver to root for. #88 and #3 will be my guys.

Richard said that he kept paying for the rights to #3 and was holding it for either someone from the Earnhardt family (Dale Jr.), or one of his own. Dillon's time is now. I think he's gonna be a good one!

I agree. I was a big Sr fan and always said I'd root for Jr when Sr retired. Well the unthinkable happened and I went toward Jr. Been a Jr fan since. I'm glad to see the #3 back in Sprint Cup. The only thing I wish is they changed the style/font of the 3 a little bit. That style of 3 will always be Dale to me.

I don't follow NASCAR much anymore but I'm glad to see the #3 coming back. I don't know why so many people are upset - it's RC's number, and if he's okay with it, and Jr's okay with it, then why shouldn't everyone else?

Yeah. He is a big time Skins fan. Pains me to even think about it. He's been on First Take with Skip and Stephen talking about his love affair with the Skins. He is buddies with Cris Cooley (former TE). He will be getting ready to race during the week and always checking on the Skins' status. Very sad! Normally that would be a deal breaker for me, but I really liked his daddy. So I will give Jr. a pass.

I had always hoped Jr. would take the number. But that will never happen. It was cool to see Dale Jr. race the Wrangler #3 in the Nationwide Series and win. Talk about spooky, but very cool!

Back to the original point. Dillon has been racing the #3 since he was a little kid. And Sr. always said that when he retired he wanted the #3 to keep going.

Lol I'm well aware he is a Skins fan. Don't matter. Nobody I'm friends with is a Cowboys fan either.

It fits him, IMO.

He's also the most overrated athlete in sports with the exception of Danica Patrick. Nobody else gets more hype for less success.

As for Dillon, I don't think he'll ever be anything more than a guy who wins a race here and there. Kind of what Jr. is.

Risen is right, Jr. is so overrated it's not even funny.
