One of my best friends is moving to Austin Saturday.

Give me a list of good places to eat, fun places to visit, sites he needs to see.

I'd really appreciate any and all help. He's a good guy and I'm going to miss him.

Oh yeah, tell me the good school districts he should check out, etc. He has an 11 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. Congrats on your football system getting that kid. If he falls in love with the sport he'll tear it up. Energy personified.

He's a huge wrestling fan. The kid will 5 star frog splash me from 6 feet in the air and launching himself to reach me. I will miss this kid a ton.

Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give me on this. It will be appreciated.

Eanes I.S.D. and Round Rock I.S.D.

Chuy's, Habana, Rosie's Tamale House, Kerbey Lane Cafe, Magnolia Cafe, Guero's are all good places to eat.

There are plenty of good hangouts on 4th ST., also known as the warehouse district. Also, Saxon Pub on south Lamar and Egos on south Congress.

The state capital, the UT tower, inner space caverns in Georegtown, Longhorn caverns in Marble Falls, Enchanted Rock near Marble Falls, Barton Springs pool, Deep Eddy pool, Hamilton pool, Town Lake hike and bike trail, Barton Creek green belt, inner tube rides in San Marcos and San Antonio is not that far away. South by Soutwest movie and music festivals are in March(11-20) and provide lots of good shows. There is a big Harley rally in early June, the ROT.

Tell him to pick up an Austin Chronicle every Thursday or look on-line at:

Hey you forgot the Local Favorite Conan's Pizza (they use a wheat crust as it being different thing). If they are still around Thundercloud subs where good

I grew up down the road in the Killeen area and spent 5 years at my 1st reserve unit in Austin

Georgetown has the candle factory

About 70 Miles West is Fredericksburg an old German Hertiage town and it has the Nimitz Museum and lots of German food :D

Vince Young over Hype opps

PS I forgot you have 5 Lakes in the area

Lake Travis is one of popular ones
Lake Buchanan has a Bald Eagle tour on a boat which is cool as heck
Lake LBJ
Lake Austin
Lakeway Resort

I didn't want to overcrowd all my favorites.

Conanns is still around, but I am lactose intolerant and don't think of pizza places when I think of food. I hear they are very good and so is Austin's Pizza.

There is pretty much a Thunder Clouds Subs on every other block nowadays. Also there are several Freebird's burrito places. Those are extremely good. Similar to Chipotles, but better.

I did forget to recommend the Alamo Drafthouse. They show first run movies and also art house flicks and just silly stuff. Every other row in the theaters are taken out to make room for benches so you can order foord. Burgers, nachos, pizza and such. They serve wine and beer. They have theme nights with corresponding foods. For example, they will show a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western and serve spaghetti. Or show Shaft and serve a 40 oz. malt liquor. They show movies like Top Gun and have a group of local comedians talk over the movie similar to Myster Science Theater. It is a great place to catch a movie.

Yeah Hos, Round Rock ISD has an incredible football stadium, and they usually field solid teams as well.

Back in the day when I was in HighSchool before all the rezoning The Round Rock Dragons played in the same divsion as Killeen; Temple; Killeen-Ellison;Copper Cove etc and sucked

Austin Westlake is where the kiddo will want to go for football. They are generally a powerhouse.

Its a ritzy area near Lake Travis.

The only area I'd consider moving to outside of DFW.

Tubing down the Guadelupe is a must.

That was the other school in the district hehe and they use to sux to my how things change (It was district 15-5a back then which no longer exist)

Well yeah Round Rock sucks, but Leander, Cedar Park, Austin Westlake, etc, always field good teams. Due to low numbers in our school, we're moving down to 4A, which really ticks me off. The stadium they share though, is just something else.
