my prediction is that the first game he has after that payday where he goes without a catch, at least 10 fans here scream that Jerry made a bad deal.

Whatever, just pay him more than that scrub Roy Williams and I will be happy.

We're talking payday already for a WR you called "GARBAGE" just 2 games ago?

Heck...Give him Roy's Money, and draft Roy's replacement.

How am I eating crow? I'm not saying Austin is legit, I'm just going by Jerry's history.

He's been great the last two games, and I'm starting to for sure come around to the idea that he's our #1 and he's legit, but i think we should hold of just a while longer before we start paying him big time money.

I don't want to make the guy seem like he's not legit, cause I do believe he likely is, but he did this against a very poor KC defense (one that gave up a 37-7 loss today against Rivers and the Chargers) and a Falcons pass defense which has been very poor, all year long, and last week lost one of their starting corners for the year.

He's been awesome, and I believe he's legit, but I'm not ready to just put big money in him just yet. Lets see how he finishes out the year before we give him money.

Rob Johnson made a boat load of money from Buffalo after having like 2 good games as Jaxonville's backup.

Jerry shouldn't even consider what he's going to pay Austin until after the seaosn.

More than Roy.

As a matter of fact, Jerry should have the latitude to go ahead and setup an automatic allotment from Roy's bank account to Austin's post haste.

Anyone know what the highest tender is for restricted free agents? (No CBA next season the way things are looking)

You called him garbage and now it's payday? I think Jerry will let him finish out the season and go from there but I believe Dallas will pay him.

Romo and Austin have too good of a budding connection to consider letting him go. Romo is such a rhythmic, trust-needing QB that it's PARAMOUNT you have receivers he trusts. I firmly believe this is why Roy and Bennett look so pedestrian; he simply doesn't trust them yet.

Witten and Austin might well be gold (Jerry, gold!).

Is Austin a restricted FA or is he unrestricted?

I believe that if there is no cap next year than he will be a restricted free agent. The new rules would be that players must have 6 years of service to reach free agency.

Miles is in his fourth year. If there is a cap next year he will be unrestricted.

This explains it a little better.

So Jerry needs to make sure the NFL goes into an uncapped year or we may lose Austin,,, ridiculous to think after all these years of coaching him up the team may lose him the second he arrives.

I guess if worse came to worse, there is always the Transition or Franchise tags.

2009 Values
Wide Receiver
Franchise: $9.884M
Transition: $8.393M
