Avi file not showing up on computer question

Got a friend whose trying to transfer some vids from his camera to his computer. Vids show fine on the camera, but it won't play right after he transfers it to his computer.

Audio shows, but no video.

Any ideas?

Try the codec pack update first. hth

Edit: Make sure your friend finds the correct codec pack for the version of the player they have.

Seems it's a Windows 7 issue, but he's not techie enuff to figure it out.

Most of the time I've seen people have problems like that, it's been codec related. This box came with vista and when trying to play .mpg files I'd only get video. No audio. There are so many standards for video out there it can drive a person nuts.

DivX codec and player work fantastic also. Try that too if others don't work.
