They opened the practice window for him a couple if weeks ago. Maybe he is not 100%.
Yeah, I guess he must not be ready yet. I haven't kept up to know if when they activate the 21-day practice window if the player has to practice the full 21 days before he can be added to the roster or if that's just a general evaluation period.

Collins has been activated in a few games. He might be close to the limit for practice squad callups. This is directly related to Peters being out.

Hoffman has also been activated from three prior games. I know nothing about him. It is interesting that we still have one of the UDFAs on the list but keep making Hoffman active.

Farniok has been in the 21 day period for at least 10 days to two weeks. Must not be quite ready. I would feel better with him as our guard/center backup to be honest. In the event of a Biadasz injury, back to McGovern as center and I guess Collins as first off the bench.

God help us if Ball has to play.

The player can play immediately after the practice window is opened but that means they take up a spot on the 53 once they're active for a game.

The practice window is just to give teams the 3 weeks before they must use a spot on the 53 or put the player back on IR for the season.

JUst checked, after third activation, a player has to be added to the 53. So Hoffman and Collins I believe are now on the 53 through the playoffs. I would assume we would cut Ball if Peters comes back for any more games.

I'd go with Collins at tackle before Ball. I agree that he should be first off the bench if there is any injury. You are correct that he's out of callups, which is probably why they added him to the 53.

Collins was added to the 53, but Hoffman was still just a callup. However, we could not call up Hoffman again now, so whether we add him to the 53 might depend on Farniok's progress. Hoffman can still go back to the practice squad but you lose the right to use him as a callup. He would have to be signed to the 53 as his "fourth callup."

Thanks. I think I knew that at one point, but couldn't recall exactly what the rule was.

Are you sure on Hoffman....it is showing him as called up three prior games? This would be his fourth.

You merely trumpet anything the team does. You don't have a single independent thought.
Really? It was common knowledge that Maher outkicked the other guy in practice this week and would be the kicker

Playoff games don't count against the 3 game callup limit.

Hoffman was active for 3 regular season games.

Collins active for 2 regular season plus 1 playoff game.

Collins battled in camp and preseason Games. I don't think they would ever try him at LT, but he could survive a game at RT if they give him help on longer developing pass plays.
- He ran a fast 40 pre-draft (4.77) and had 34 reps on the bench
- The issue is that he was only 295 at draft time.
- He has bulked up but now (in camp) looks fat and maybe heavier than his frame should carry.

The second post in this thread says that he's being elevated from the practice squad, which means that he had callup eligibility left. I'm assuming Collins did not since they signed him to the 53.
