I see him more as a situational guy.
They are loaded enough that he'll be effective. Not sure what they paid though.

We probably have a least somewhat of a bracket now, true.

Real curious what they paid because Avril really benefited from having two tackles that required double teams. He's a bit overrated, imo.

I agree, I said that when people wanted him over Spencer last year.
But now with Kruger getting 8 a year and Avril contract will be released soon we should know what Spencer should be. Avril is 26 as Spencer is 29 so no way does he get more than Avril. Also Avril has better stats than Spencer.
Kruger and Spencer have very similar stats and Kruger is younger and played opposite another very good pass rusher in Suggs.

I would only give him a 4 year 35 million or 5 year 43. Any more I would trade him.

Doesn't appear that way. They're all in for a run. If Wilson can repeat his performance from the 2nd half of this year, they'll be very tough to beat.

Paul Kruger just turned 27 last year had 9 sacks plus 4.5 in the post season and 2 FF. Over his 4 year career he has 15.5 sacks

Anthony Spencer just turned 29 and had 11 sacks and 2 FF this year
over his 6 year career he has 32.5 sacks and 12 FF

Last season Spencer had 1.5 more sacks than Avril but over there career Avril has 7 more sacks and 4 more FF with one less year and two years younger.
Sorry but no way should Spencer get paid more than Avril.

........full disclosure: I was DEAD set against re-signing Anthony for that much money as we have other glaring needs: However, I LIVE in MIchigan and have to be exposed to Lions games..... and can tell you there is a HUGE reason they didn't re-sign Cliff Avril: he simply cannot and will not stay home and defend the run. It's selfish and pathetic. Spencer is a much better player than Avril, I don't care what the stats say. Just be glad you don't have to watch the Lions.

I agree Spencer is a better over all player but when you have to get a new contract you lok at production and age.

Seattle is going to replace Clemons with Avril on the weak side, won't have to play the run as much. Perfect fit for Seattle and Avril.
