Awuzie has Outplayed B. Jones the Last Month?

Jones' behavior on that last 53-yard pass to Lockett was strange. In that situation, it was obvious that Seattle, down by ten points, was going to have to throw deep downfield very often. Even though it was 2nd-and-1, the Cowboys should have been playing deep, allowing the intermediate stuff but nothing long, since Seattle had none or almost no timeouts remaining. Instead Byron Jones let Lockett get behind him deep.

If you have two CBs on the field on most plays, one of them is going to be better than the other to some degree for some length of time however arbitrarily defined, I guess.

Both of these guys are going to tested all day. I really wish Awuzie would get his eyes back to the ball in coverage.

They are playing very well but Jones doesnt have 1 INT. Most Good CBs tell you that they study their opponent and when they see a route that they have been looking for they go and get it. I dont see that from Jones he is very safe, not that you just want to gamble but you should anticipate and see clearly something happening and then jump. That's what I want from Jones. If you do that, you're worth big money. We need someone in the secondary to get turnovers. That's what will take the defense to the next level. The scary thing is I think BOTH Jones and Awuzie can reach that level they just have to put in the work and be confident.

Defense is still bend at heart. People putting up yards with the game in hand is going to be a theme because it's a nice angle but is really meaningless. Most of Russ's damage and a good bit of Jameis' would qualify. Russ had like 150 yards before the 2 minute warning

People expect corners to never get beat. Casey Hayward gave up two tds to Crabtree. I swear Cowboy fans awareness about what really happens in the NFL is nonexistent.

Jones has gotten caught a few times the last few games. He is used to teams not throwing his way.

The Cowboys secondary has been shaky all season, if not for the pass rush this defense might be giving up 500yds a game.
