There was no 1.0 to refer you to, at least not that I can remember.

1a. Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona. I think the Patriots will be looking closely at him because he's perfect for their cover three. I'll assume they go LT or OLB and Cason will slide to #22, with DRC and McKelvin both off the board as well.

1b. Limas Sweed, WR, Texas. I was tempted to go with a big athletic tackle like Nicks or Albert here. They could be thrown into the mix at LT or become road graders at LG if unsuccessful. I see one of Sweed or Hardy being available and both seem like safe projections at wideout. Some of the later picks - Jackson(s), Douglas, Royal - seem more like slot receivers and we need a true wideout to groom.

2. Chris Johnson, RB/PR, East Carolina. Soft hands and excellent speed make him an instant contriubtor out of the backfield as a receiver, or as a slot receiver and as a punt returner. He'll only be expected to carry the ball seven to ten times per game, but with our OLine opening up huge holes, he'll be a threat to break a large run often. He hits the holes quickly and with great speed. I think he'll make it here (late second round) because he's a bit of a luxury pick that many teams won't be able to afford with their first two picks. Teams looking for a feature back will look elsewhere first.

3. Red Bryant, NT, Texas A&M. We stay close to home for the second time to pick up a space eater in the middle of the defense. Ratliff will settle in opposite Canty at DE and the threesome should make for a dominating DL starting in 2009 for years to come.

4. Jason Jones, DE, Eastern Michigan. With Ellis' future cloudy, JJ looks to a rotational OLB to develop. Jones has had a decent post season and may be a good shout to make the switch to standing up.

5. Robert Felton, OG, Arkansas. As all the pundits predicted, JJ looks to his Alma Mater for that special skill player. Oh wait a minute.....well, Jamie Dukes would consider him a skill player, and he represents good value here at a spot where he could develop to replace Kosier.

6. David Roach, S, TCU. Staying on theme, JJ looks in-state to TCU for a project at safety. He put up some nice numbers at the combine, looks fairly fluid and has a nice frame. I'm not sure his stock won't be up considerably now, but based on production this is about the right slotting for him.

7. Jack Ikegwuono, CB, Wisconsin. A blown out knee and reconstructive surgery will mean that Jack spends the next 18 months on IR. He's a talent though and someone will take the chance on him, might as well be the Cowboys.

Patiots looking closely at pick #7 for a C.B. I have ranked as a mid 2nd rounder?

1b. Limas Sweed, WR, Texas. I was tempted to go with a big athletic tackle like Nicks or Albert here. They could be thrown into the mix at LT or become road graders at LG if unsuccessful. I like it!
I wouldn't mind one of the later round W.R.'s oyu mentioned on top of this since we'd have T.O./Crayton/Sweed and no real speed guy!

Teams looking for a feature back will look elsewhere first.

Ran a 4.24, not a 1st round pick, but DEFINATELY GONE by our pick in round 2.

3. Red Bryant, NT, Texas A&M. We stay close to home for the second time to pick up a space eater in the middle of the defense. Ratliff will settle in opposite Canty at DE and the threesome should make for a dominating DL starting in 2009 for years to come.

Again I don't think he'll last till our pick in round 3, could though, you never know about N.T.'s in the draft since they do drop.

4. Jason Jones, DE, Eastern Michigan. With Ellis' future cloudy, JJ looks to a rotational OLB to develop. Jones has had a decent post season and may be a good shout to make the switch to standing up.

Have to research him, I didn't have O.L.B. as one of our picks, but could make sense, I like Shawn Crable too to be our backup O.L.B. in round 4 also!

5. Robert Felton, OG, Arkansas. As all the pundits predicted, JJ looks to his Alma Mater for that special skill player. Oh wait a minute.....well, Jamie Dukes would consider him a skill player, and he represents good value here at a spot where he could develop to replace Kosier.

I think he could be our 4th round pick, I really like him!
6'-4 325 and ran blocked for Felix and McFadden who got tons of yards!

Don't knwo much about him, but like the idea of pickign up another D.B.!

7. Jack Ikegwuono, CB, Wisconsin. A blown out knee and reconstructive surgery will mean that Jack spends the next 18 months on IR. He's a talent though and someone will take the chance on him, might as well be the Cowboys.

I have us taking him in round 6 only cause sOMEONE ELSE will surely pick him in round 7 for sure before our pick thinking the same thing!

Not bad, I just don't see Cason as a 1st rounder and would PUKE if we picked him at #22, and I think your 2nd and 3rd rounders will be long gone the time we pick is all, but like I siad, you never know.

Cason seems to be a love-hate guy. He seems to me to be the finished product though and would be a great compliment to Newman.

WRT Johnson, I explained why I think he'll be there - he's not a feature back, and I don't think many teams can afford to use a second round pick on a punt returner or seven-carry back. After the 4.24 wears off, CJ will settle down into the third round on most teams' draft boards.

I agree that Ikegwuono will likely be gone in the late 6th or early 7th, however, not many teams will pick someone who may stay on their IR for two seasons.

But he was a PROJECTED mid-late 2nd rounder BEFORE he ran a 4.24, so I dont' see how he can drop to a 3rd rounder AFTER he ran a 4.24

He was projected late second round too, and he was projected to run 4.25. If you insist I move up ten spots to get him, I'll do that, but it's a mock and CJ in the late second is reasonable in my estimation. More reasonable than DRC lasting until 22, IMO.

Here Scouts have him graded at 79, which is likely into the 3rd round and have his college 40 as 4.25. So all he did by the combine is maintain is ranking based on 40 time.

Cason is the best corner in the draft doesn't have blazing speed so he is consider one of the elite he will be a steal for us your mock is good you hit the most important needs in in the first 3 rounds and picked got the best players available at their position i wouldn't complain about this

The link didn't work, but that's only one link anyway and there's 1,000's of them having him from early 2nd to early 3rd.
True he was expected to run that and he ran that, but it's one thing to be expected to run it and actually run it.

I think Cromartie being there at #22 and Johnson being ther eend of round 2 are not gonan happen.
So I would think if we wanted either we'd have to move up to get them on both rounds, which I wouldn't have a problem with!
If Cromartie or McKelvin is still on the board at 17 or 18, we'd be foolish not to trade up to snag one of them!
I like Johnson end of round 2, unlike some nitwit in here who thinks we should take him at #22 in round 1, I know I know, hold off on the laughter on that one, BUT I'd trade up a few spots if hes' still on the board at #20 in round 2.

Umm you do know that the best player doesn't always get taken first right? Just because he has Cason lasting to the late second round doesn't mean that no other CBs are taken before that.

Umm, yeah you saying that all those CBs would be there was a sarcastic remark, that's pretty obvious. However your sarcasm doesn't serve any purpose, it makes no point. Clearly the point of your post was to ridicule him for saying Cason was the best CB and only having him being drafted in the late second. We already know that you think Cason is no better than a mid 2nd round pick and we can assume that you don't think he's the best.

Therefor when you say " Thinks Cason is THE BEST CORNER IN THE DRAFT, yet has us taking him at the END OF ROUND 2! LOL" you're attacking the assumption that Cason is the best CB, something that you weren't being sarcastic about and is actually a debatable topic. However, whether or not Cason is the best CB in the draft doesn't necessarily determine his draft status. Look at Ted Ginn Jr and Dwayne Bowe last year. You're quote above was made out of ignorance and the assumption that the best player gets drafted first, there's no sarcasm in there. There's not even anything that could be confused as sarcasm.

The second part of what you said, that is sarcastic, but you can't use that as a fallback to hide the ignorance in your first statement.

I've seen studies that suggest a negative correlation between the # of emoticons used per post and a persons IQ. As the emoticons go up, the IQ goes down.

SO WHAT PART DON'T YOU GET THEN??????
You don't find it ODD to say the least he thinks Cason is the best C.B. in the draft yet in his cowboys mock he doesn't have us picking him at #22 or at least @28 but at the END OF ROUND 2????????????

Therefor when you say " Thinks Cason is THE BEST CORNER IN THE DRAFT, yet has us taking him at the END OF ROUND 2! LOL" you're attacking the assumption that Cason is the best CB, something that you weren't being sarcastic about and is actually a debatable topic.

W T F????????
I'm provign he must not REALLY think Cason is the best C.B. if he has us selecting him in round 2 IS ALL I WAS SAYING, yet you're making it into something competely off the wall!

However, whether or not Cason is the best CB in the draft doesn't necessarily determine his draft status. Look at Ted Ginn Jr and Dwayne Bowe last year.

NO KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But don't you think if YOU PERSONALLY thought he was LEGITIMATELY the best C.B. in the draft and were making upa mock draft that if he was THAT GOOD and THE BEST C.B. that there would be NO WAY IN HELL He'd last till our pick in the late 2nd round??????
Wouldn't YOU put him in your own cowboys mock at #22 or #28??????????

You're quote above was made out of ignorance and the assumption that the best player gets drafted first, there's no sarcasm in there. There's not even anything that could be confused as sarcasm.

NEVER SAID THE BEST PLAYER GETS DRAFTED 1st, but if he thinks, AH FORGET IT, I explained it in detail that a 2nd grader SHOULD of understood, and since You don't understand it, that speaks VOLUMES about your intelligence!

The second part of what you said, that is sarcastic, but you can't use that as a fallback to hide the ignorance in your first statement

I NEVER ASSUMED anything and I KNOW the best player isn't always drafted 1st, you COMPLETELY MISSED the joke AND the sarcasm and turned a simple joke into something out of left field and a psychology exam on how people think! LOL
you are off the wall and clearly don't GET IT!
