Arizona, not Tampa, will host Super Bowl XLIX in 2015

The vote came down to Arizona and Tampa Bay.Arizona last hosted the Super Bowl in 2008 when the Giants upset the Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII. Tampa Bay last hosted Super Bowl XLIII in 2009 when the Steelers defeated the Cardinals 27-23 on Feb. 1. South Florida has held the most Super Bowls at 10.

HOUSTON (AP) — NFL owners have awarded the 2015 Super Bowl to the Phoenix area.

It will be the third time the area has hosted the game, which will be played in Glendale, Ariz. The Super Bowl also was held at University of Phoenix Stadium in 2008, when the Giants beat the Patriots 17-14. Tempe, Ariz., hosted the game in 1996, with Dallas defeating Pittsburgh 27-17.

The Arizona committee screamed in delight when the announcement was made Tuesday.

I don't think so. I shared a tip earlier and my guy was wrong. People aren't likely to forgive that.

John Elway jr.'s LA Jaguars VS the Russel Wilson lead Dallas Cowboys

Um... John Elway Jr.? John Elway Jr. is the John Elway we all know of that quarterbacked the Broncos and is not their Vice President of Football Operations.

If you're thinking of Jack Elway, his son, then I believe he is no longer in football after leaving ASU in 2009.

What exactly does it take for a stadium to join the "Super Bowl rotation?" Having the NFL's biggest and best stadium doesn't do it? We're in a Southern region, the January ice storms notwithstanding.

Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Arizona, Miami all join in the rotation, why not Cowboys Stadium?

I imagine we'll be up for it the next one or two years or so. Our stadium was built for the purpose of hosting multiple Super Bowls and the NFL knows it. The ice storm and seating issue last year probably hurt our chances a little bit though. So did the overreacting hate on Jerry Jones on the issue by the media, even though he wasn't really responsible for it.

I'm surprised Houston hasn't gotten another one. I thought they did a good job. It's weird to see Reliant Stadium so quickly surpassed with recent venues.
