Babin to Titans as Eagles decline to match offer
3/19/2010 9:06:31 PM
The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans acquired defensive end Jason Babin on Friday after the Eagles declined to match the one-year, $1 million offer sheet he signed on Wednesday.
“We’re happy our deal with Jason worked out,” said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt. “He’s a high-energy player and a good pass rusher, and he fits what we do very well. He has all offseason to come in and work with Coach Washburn and become a part of our rotation at defensive end.”
Babin was an unrestricted free agent, but his contract with Philadelphia allowed the Eagles a week to match any offers. The Eagles declined to match and the Titans owe Philadelphia no compensation.
