Back from the game, observations

Before I start with my observation of the game, I want to say that I hope that the fans in Dallas have a little more respect for the opponents fans than Philly does. I knew what to expect going in, and I didn't wear any Cowboys gear, but Philly fans are classless. I have never been to a game in Dallas, but I would imagine that Eagle fans are met with a little more respect there. I feel like this morning that I went to a FIGHT and a FOOTBALL game broke out.

Enough with that, on to the game.

1. MBIII looked pretty good, even though he was getting stuffed. He seemed to have very good vision going through the line. Although on that draw play in the 4th Quarter, I could've found that hole. He ran hard, and didn't do alot of dancing, he went straight at the line.

2. The Eagles, yes I'll give them credit, absolutely shut down Witten. I hope there are no posts this week about not using Witten this week. He was blanketed no matter where he went. Although he did drop at least one ball he usually catches.

3. Newman was the best defensive player on the field last night. He was everywhere. He had his man locked down, at least until McNabb left the pocket. He was in on almost everyplay to his side of the field. Oh yeah, he's pretty quick too...

4. Ware is a beast. But the thing that impressed me the most was that on at least one occassion he ran down Westbrook from behind. That was amazing.

5. We looked confused on defense when Mcnabb left the pocket. On his TD run, Nguyen was standing in the endzone, saw Mcnabb running his way, and then he turned his back and was face guarding his man as McN. runs around the edge. I couldn't believe that one.

6. There isn't much good to talk about offensively, but the one good was that it seemed, for the most part that Bledsoe was given time to make throws. A big portion of the sacks came when he was protected and no one was open. That's a good sign for games in the future.

7. Roy W. is alot faster than he's given credit for. On one play he was lined up on the right side of the defense, LJ Smith was on the other. At the snap Roy took off across the field, and got to LJ just as the pass got there. He was moving.... Oh and he looked good on the intercepton return too.

8. What was McNabb thinking? The view from our seats on that one was right over his shoulder. There was no way that ball was getting in there. As soon as he dropped back on that one, the crowd went nuts. then they proceeded to boo McNabb as he limped from the field.

9. The fans had no idea how the game is played. With 7 minutes to go in the fourth, the group of guys behind me couldn't believe that the 'Boys weren't using their TOs. He was certain that the clock was gonna run out. Of course this is the same guy who said that Philly should run it down our throats on that first and goal in the fourth? or late 3rd? Anyway then after the game, and after they tried to "run it down our throats" and came away with a field goal, he was pissed at the end of the game cause they didn't put us away.

Anyway, this is just my view, if you have any questions, fire away.....

How did the rest of the secondary play? You can't really see that on TV, but the Eagles WRs didn't have many catches. Was it the Eagles gameplan or was it the coverages?

The eagles recievers aren't very good route runners. Not sharp on their cuts at all, very slow in their breaks. I thought Glenn did well, as did Davis, he was aroung the edges alot. Overall, if I was the Eagles, I would have made McNabb roll out alot. We were very confused when he wasn't in the pocket.

Two Eagles fans started fighting 7-8 rows behind us and were both taken out IN THE FIRST QUARTER. Then, there was a guy in a JJ jersey that got beer thrown on him and that started another one. I didn't see if they took anyone away from that one (he was with a Philly fan). Chants of a-hole resonated throughout the stadium where ever there was a Cowboy jersey. Classless. I was funny to see to drunken idiots, who missed the game of a lifetime, get ejected after the first quarter though, especially because they were both Eagirls fans.

That's the plan for next year. If all goes well. I'll be in the Big D next year.

No doubt about Dat...Bazzaro world he turned & ran away from McChunky! Letting McChunk laugh...But not the last laugh...
He was getting pancaked everytime he was in there...Past time to retire Dat...

Unfortunately you don't know that at the stadium. I give him much respect for that. I didn't know that until today...

Were we watching the same game? He never came close to McNabb, which is his chief job. He's puny and undersized. He gets swallowed up by massive o-linemen. Bill supposedly loves size, yet he passed on the bigger Merriman for the smaller Ware--to his regret. My new nickname for him is DeMarcus "Ware was he??"

He's puny and undersized? That is one of the dumbest statements that I have ever heard, especially coming from someone who wasn't at the game contradicting someone's perception who was at the game.

Wow...I wish I could have been there to witness the demise of the Eagle fans. A few questions;

1. Were you openly rooting for the Cowboys or did you have to hide your emotions a bit. If so, how did you react when Roy ran back that interception?

2. How often was Price used and was he getting open? He looked pretty good on that long pass reception.

3. It seemed like the Philly offense was unstoppable for most of the game. Who would you say was the weakest link in the Cowboys defense?

OK here we go:

1. I was being cautiously, appreciative of what the Cowboys were doing. Let's put it that way. My emotion did get the best of me on the Glenn TD, mostly because he is on my fantasy team, and at that point I realized we have a chance to come back. Then it happened again, when Roy picked off McNabb, I was screaming amongst the groans of the Eagles fans, for Roy to get into the endzone.

2. Price wasn't in too much. He came in when Glenn would run a deep route. Or when they went to 3 wide. I really didn't get a good look at him, I was busy watching the pass protection for Bledsoe.

3. I said it before, and I'll say it here. It seemed to me, from high above the field, that BP wanted to simply eliminate the big play, and try to keep the crowd as out of it as he could. I think they felt like, coming into the game, Philly couldn't continuously drive the ball down field. Although I think the Eagles committment to the running game did suprise them. Any way there was nothing open down field all game, it was all underneath. So if I had to pick one weak spot I'd say either the LB's or the DL.

it seemed to me that the 3 tight end set was used too much and that the eagles were able to stuff that formation most of the time. What was your feeling watching it??

it was clearly obvious that the iggles were stacking 8 or 9 men in the box, because of our predictable game plans. The play to price for 58 yards caught the iggles with their pants down. they stacked the line and were beaten. All night long we ran when we should have playaction passed. We could have beaten them easily.

our defense was all fluff untill late in the game. no innovative blitzes and our 3-4 scheme was exposed by LAMAR GORDON for f**K sakes. Some may say i am wrong, however look back at the tape and you will clearly see that we were so run conscience that we forgot to pass. YES! they did double glenn all night but the play action pass would have destroyed this team. We waited three quaters to throw a deep pass after the price catch.

all that being said i watched the whole game and thank GOD! for foam bricks or i would have been purchasing a new big screen tv!

GOD BLESS THE COWBOYS! We won it!

Another poster said on here that Ware is puny...
Would you give a quick evaluation on Ware's Play and how big or small he looked....

I know it is hard to see on TV how well the D-line is playing.
Thanx
