I saw it as the players telling the OC that they were beating their guy and could continue doing so. Their frustration was bubbling over because the coaching staff couldn't see it. Now, I do think that Witten's tantrums were over the top, but he will get a pass due to his achievements during his career here.

I understand.....and btw...I love Witten....but....its the same thing last year....

TO was frustrated too.....but we pegged him a cancer.....and maybe righfully so because of his past....but its still happening now.....and because its Witten....its ok......

If it was Crayton or Williams doing this....I would think the reaction would be different.

I am not sure, To me, yesterday was his worst game.

He just stands there and does nothing, its just sorry the way he embraces the role of head coach.

Its now boiled over to the players. Romo and witten had enough yesterday and they went after people. Keith brooking has been doing it all year.

How you can be the number 1 guy and be in control and not use that or do nothing with it but it is beyond me.

Top it all off with his defense, the one job we assume he is dedicated to cant stop anyone when it matters most.

I dont think firing anyone during a season does any good, but at some point they have to look at wade for what his flaws are now doing to the team. The negatives far outweigh the positives with wade.

oh well, nothing we can do about it. Its just incredibly frustrating.

Good post, theebs. It is frustrating. We can do nothing but watch the wheels fall off. I'm just hoping the players take the role and run with it without making it a huge issue. Kind of like when Switzer was here. The players coached themselves basically and found the 'happy medium' to be successful.

you are completely wrong in comparing the two.

If you cant see the difference there is no point in explaining it to you.

Please explain to me.... :)

Would Dungy (sp?) yell at his players? Because Wade's is Wade...doesnt make him a bad coach because he doesnt yell at his players.

San Fran looked terriable yesterday.....Mike chewed out his players and they still went out and stunk up the joint.

I want Players to grab the bull by the horns and lead this team....and its good to hear Witten and Romo goin after players......Jimmy Genius even with his iron fist.....had players that were leaders........Players that made other players better.

I by no means think Wade is a great coach.....but I sure dont think Mike Singetary is a great coach either.......we see a rah rah...coach....and all that crap and automatically think what a great coach........

here is what you are confusing.

WHen owens was yelling and screaming it was about getting him the ball. He was mad he wasnt getting the ball. It was an act of selfishness.

that is not what was going yesterday. Yesterday it was about guys doing their jobs, guys knowing their roles and guys responding to the situation and how important the game was. That is why hudson houck was also yelling and screaming. That is why dave campo was having a fit with guys making mistakes.

It wasnt an act of selfishness, it was about the team. Say what you want about this team, and all of us have a differing opinion on the team, but no matter how bad it goes this team will be one unit.

The only reason witten and romo can go and try and straighten people out yesterday like that, is because for the first time they are in control, they have the power in the locker room and on the field and they used it. IN the past certain players would have laughed at them and caused a rift.

Yesterdays actions will be viewed as a positive because at the heart of it, it was all about the team.

Its not about yelling and screaming per se. Its about the head coach having control and using it. When guys make repeated mistakes and the game is slipping away, he needs to go and get them together and put people on notice.

Yelling and screaming can just be hot air, singletary can do it because players no he will back it up and put people on the bench. No one expects wade to yell and scream, most of us are just begging for him to have basic control of the team. you are the top guy, act like it. Stop making excuses after the game for players who were making mental mistakes etc..

During the Sunday night broadcast Dungy said if he was in that Titans lockerroom at halftime he would be yelling and screaming. I thought to myself "I can't picture that", but then I thought that if I was on the team, and Dungy was yelling and screaming, I would sit up and pay attention - because I would notice the place where it was coming from - a place of passion and concern.

I think if Wade attempted it I would just laugh.

One thing....we assume that TO rants we always about getting him the ball.....its safe to say....that maybe sometimes it was him trying to get his teammates goin.

Also....it would be great if Witten and Romo became leaders of this team...but I dont think they need too because of Wade weakness...but I believe with any head coach you need team leaders

btw....Witten getting pissed because he was benched because of a false start...is all about the team?

and players yelling at Garrett is all about the team?

Like I said...If it was Crayton or Williams doing this.......would we say....its all about the team?

Who said....Wade has never yelled at Halftime?

and why is it ....if he did.....we would laugh at him? Because of the way he looks?

I could say the same thing about Romo......wouldnt we laugh if he yelled at us?

Im sorry...its up to the players....those repeated mistakes were all on the players.....Should Wade bench the entire DL because they had 4 offisides penalties on a single drive?

Alot of those mistakes were on the players......

Please realize that you are taking the comment that witten was kicked out of the pregame warmup and got mad as a source of this. Its not. I have seen almost all the lineman in the two homegames this year come out during the 7 on 7 and 11 on 11 warmups before the game.

That is not what set witten off, Kristie scales talked about it during the radio broadcast. It started with the gurode snap and then escalated with the penalties.

guys were frustrated, the season was slipping away and he and some others decided to do something about it.

Anytime you burn two timeouts in the first qtr because of various reasons, like guys not lining up correctly, incorrect personel and the play coming in late it is going to make some people livid.

The guy who should have been going crazy about it is the head coach, he should have been on garrett asking what the heck is going on, instead the players are left to resolve these issues.

dont confuse this stuff with something that comes from a selfish standpoint.

Man, I never even played past HS ball and I know how heated guys get during games. It's not a big deal, it doesn't mean people have lost confidence in Garrett. It just means they were trying to find their way.

This is what happens on NFL sidelines, people will only take notice if it's a "prima donna" WR though.

but we lead the league in total offense!

exactly, and if mr fix it's defense did not choke at the end of every game we might be 5-0. If red has to go, then wade goes to.

Only someone who has never played the game in a load atmosphere would think there was any anger behind the people yelling to the sidelines.

You have to yell people ..... you cannot hear.

3a.) The offensive coordinator: I can see why the offense looks so disorganized on the field - they are constantly arguing with Garrett! There was hardly a play in the 2nd or 3rd quarter where somebody on the field wasn't yelling at him. It was Romo telling him to get the plays in sooner, Bennett telling JG that he was open and mostly Witten yelling and screaming at him. Witten yelled at JG from the field and from the sidelines. Many times pointing to himself in an effort to get plays called for him. He also paced/raced and otherwise pouted on the sidelines the whole game. Throwing his helmet, water bottles and being unruly. Not sure to call that a cometetive fire or something pregame that he couldn't get over.

That was the most disturbing story from the game in my opinion. Reminds me of Daryl Johnston saying that the 1995 team won in spite of the coaching.
That's scary to me, because this year's Dallas team has it's work cut out big time if the coaches don't set some ground rules about chaos on the sideline. It's clear that they do not have the players' trust either. Leadership is more important than ever, with coaching like that.

I was only luke warm on him when they signed him, but I was very, very wrong. What an unbelievable player and leader.
He's what Zach Thomas was supposed to be and is everything that Bradie James needs to be.

Well....Mike Singletary took a time out early in yesterday's game and the players went out and got blown out.....and that pep talk did nothing...

Its time to make the players accountable........When TO does someting....its a cancer.....when someone we like does it.....its because they are leaders.

So here we have players questioning Garrett....and its ok.....then we have a player complaining because he was disciplined by the coach......and we thinks its ok because its Witten.

I'd imagine most every team on game day has a little of this which is why the producers weren't very interested. After the game, the players seemed genuinely supportive of one another.

With regards to TO, he does it on the sideline, he does it in the locker room and everywhere else he can. It's one thing to have some passion during the game, but it's a whole nother thing to consistently throw people like your QB, OC, HC and owner under the bus. There's a huge difference and it has nothing to do with liking Witten better.

Jason Garrett is clearly in over his head. He is the guy at everyone's job that is woefully unqualified for the management position he occupies but he is in good with the Owner.

Jason Garrett has proven that it takes him quite a while to recognize talent and to put together a decent gameplan.

As for Jason Witten, I will give him a pass. You just know he is one of the guys affected most by how the team is playing and it probably drives him nuts.

You should be giving him a medal for doing what needed to be done...

a pass? Good grief.

I agree with that and I would rather have players holding players accountable than it coming from the coaches anyway. I think that is what is going to build leaders and that is what is going to build this team. Coaches yell and scream but when your fellow players call you out that is a whole different thing in the players mindset especially when they are the leaders of the team. This is what this team needs!
