Well, not exactly with the NFL Team:

Desperados sign former Dallas Cowboys CB Hunter

12:06 AM CDT on Thursday, March 20, 2008

Former Cowboys cornerback Pete Hunter was signed by the Desperados. Coach Will McClay said Hunter isn't expected to play in Saturday's game at San Jose. Hunter was a fifth-round pick in 2002 by the Cowboys. His most recent NFL experience was in 2006 with Seattle.

Jerry did that a couple of years ago and he didn't make it out of TC.
Actually he never went to camp with the Cowboys, they tried to sign him one year but the nfl had a rule that other teams could claim the contract since he was a Desperado's(owned by Jerry) player and New Orleans claimed him. Pettis was really upset over that whole thing because the Saints never really gave him a chance.

Yeah thats exactly what happened. It prevents a minor league situation in the NFL, having to clear every team.

I think you were thinking of Bobby Sippio Yeag, we had him in camp I believe and had him playing safety one year.

And the first Arena Football league SHUTDOWN CORNER is born! Light it up, Pete!

All they need to do is get Jacque Reeves signed and they'd have some Champ Bailey/Dre Bly action going on.

I'll let you guys figure out which is which.
