OK, I've got my tin foil hat on and the black helicopters are circling but...

I just read an article in the Dallas Cowboys Star magazine and Jerry was talking about how the Player Personnel Department works.

In the article he talked about the fact that He and Parcells had to "Work through Rough Waters) to let Ireland and Brian Gaine go to Miami. He said it was against the rules and that "Two clubs can't agree to break the rules and we both got our hands slapped real good by the commissioner. But we were able to get through that."

Now, if it were against the rules to allow that to happen then their would have had to be a mutual agreement. Why would Jerry do that, knowing he would "Get his hands slapped real good" and not get anything in return.

Could there be something to the whole swapping of the top picks and jerry getting better value than normal?

Personally, I think it is still a long shot but this article makes you wonder why Jerry would do that.

Can you say Quid pro quo?

OK. I'll take the tin foil hat off now but I'm still looking for the black helicopters. :D

Any link at all? If this is true, then say hello to McFadden.

It was in the Dallas Cowboys Star magazine. For what it's worth it's on page 41. Not a link but as close as I can come.

BTW, I would be ok with it as long as it doesn't come at the expense of Marion Barber. Any deal that involves him would be DOA.

Don't know why unless the guy would be a bust and all indications are that he won't be. With that said, if we did swing this deal, I would much rather see them trade down with Oak at the #4 spot and still get Mcfadden if indeed that is who we would be targeting.

Sure, "all indications are that he won't be a bust"--but seriously, ask yourself which bust had indications he'd be a bust? That's the whole damn part of being a bust, everyone expected huge things and he didn't deliver. That comment made no sense.

I get the magazine and the original poster is correct. I thought the same thing as him when reading it, but didn't make a post regarding it considering the amount of McFadden posts we have already.

I'd be happy grabbing Felix Jones and then Cromartie, but the way this article has it, it looks like there's something else going on.

...in as competitive a league as the NFL with the pressure to win that Jones would do Bill such a favour and not expect something in return.

The question is was the favour done earlier with Garrett or is the debt to be paid off in the near future?

This will be interesting.

So the Cowboys are cheaters? My God, with the unbelievable bias the NFL and basically the world has against us where's the uproar? Have we been kicked out of the league yet? Lost 10 first round draft choices? Will a 1,000 forum members quit being fans because they could never root for cheaters? What will they tell their kids?

That may explain that when Ireland went to the Fin's he was to be in complete charge and the sole final decission maker as GM and while it is painfully obvious that Bill is pulling all the strings, Jerry hasn't filed a grievence. Which I believe would be his right to do if this was indeed the case with Bill pulling all the strings.

I doubt and would be shocked if traded for that number 1 pick. Miami is stuck with that no matter how much they dislike it.

And a couple more things, Bill Parcells is not going to be had, if anything in any deal it will be Jerry who gets had.

Having said that, I think there is a possibility that if there is something Dallas really wants after using the two 1s I think there is a good chance that we could give Miami our 2 and 3 or 2 this year and 2 next year for that first pick in the 2nd round if there is something sitting there that we really want.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's a deal done and BP takes Jerry to the cleaners.

Good post.
I would not be shocked though.

I almost agree that Jerry will "be had" over Bill. But Jerry does have some leverage, no?

If Jerry offers both first rounders - it a win in some capacity for Bill. He can stockpile picks, have options.

Does Jerry have to get the points to match? Will Bill take what he can get as long as its more than one?
