Back to back weeks 2 3 and out drives late in the 4th quarter!

Last two weeks were almost carbon copies of one another: Defense gets a late stop and Cowboys offense goes 3 and out both times before the final drives. Should be 2-0 in those games.

Closing out games was a major strength from this team in the past. Not only were they able to run the football when the defense knew what was coming, but they also made aggressive passing calls to close out games. It seems like Schott goes super conservative playing not to lose in these situations. With a struggling defense, he cannot give an opposing team more chances to beat them!
The Cowboys scored TD’s on 2 of the last 3 drives to win the game and you’re whining about a 3 and out? You’re also apparently not aware that the Cowboys have one of the best, if not the best, offenses in the entire NFL when it comes to the less amount of 3 and out’s.

It 's all about the situation, they have to learn how to finish better.
And start out faster on offense at the beginning of games. It's a combination of the two (situation-faster starts) IMO

No offense is perfect, but this is a recurring theme with this team.

We've seen it happen consistently against the tougher teams, now the tin cans have joined the party.

If i'm not mistaken, isn't this something Prescott said the offense needs to get better at?

And no, the defense doesn't get a pass.
It needs to continue to make incremental progress.

Until that side of the
ball improves in a significant way the offense has to be better. Not perfect, just better.

Fair deal or not.

a 3 and out in the first half is not the same as a 3 and out in the 4th quarter. GOTI needs to capitalize when we actually get a stop on defense. especially late in games. that really is the difference between good and great teams. Good and great qb’s

Agree with everything you said. It's more situationally better like the beginning and ending of games. Defense certainly has to get better as there will be days the offense as a whole won't be as productive. The other hidden thing is our poor special teams giving up bad starting field position.

It is the situation. Back to back weeks there was an opportunity to either go up two scores or close out the game after the defense made a rare stop. Not questioning how good the offense is or isn't, just about closing out an opponent. Now, Schott deserves blame as he gets real conservative in these situations.

I heard today that the Cowboys have the fewest three and outs in the entire league... so stop already.

So we agree that Schotty’s a big part of the problem.
