Most know that Morris will be a FA leaving only Rod Smith and Zeke in our RB room. Cowboys and most teams carry four RBs on their active roster, while possibly deactivating them for games.
After last years showing while Zeke was out, Morris will likely head elsewhere in hoping for a last payday. I can see him getting around the $2.25M AAV mark.
My question is what cheap depth RB players are you looking at in free agency? We will likely add one/two rookies through the draft or UDFAs, but thats not what this discussion is about.
My target would be Jeremy Hill, and hoping he could find his groove that he lost after his sophomore campaign. Still a reliable GL back in the past two years. Chark West is also a very intriguing option.
Who are your target(s)?
CJ Anderson, Gillislee, Doug Martin, Chris Ivory, Forte, AP, Demarco, and Charcandrick West will alll likely be cut from their teams making them free agents as well.
