Backup QB problem

So you think trubisky would do good in kellen's offense? He would be no better than Dalton, and only a little improvement
over the bk-ups we have. He could not win games here.
And if you put him in with the OL and wr rush and dinucci and GG have had to play with , he would look as bad as them.

The problem is the coaches here. Dak is good enough to make them look like decent coaches but they are not.
In fact last year even dak could not make them look good and was 1-3 and was one play from 0-4.

And let me add ST play was awful in this last game, and when jimmy was here he valued
ST play, and it was part of his game plan to win 2 of 3 parts, off , def, and ST play.
And his ST's did win games, returns, blocked punts, onside kicks.
Dallas just blows off ST play, and tries to win with just offense, and hold on with def lol.

The offensive coordinator calling plays and running the show on that side of the ball has the job because Dak didn't want to learn a new offense, so the owner made sure to keep moore here even though he hired a guy who's entire career was running an offense and calling plays.

Barry church on the pregame last night said he did not understand why Mike McCarthy was hired if he was not running the offense and calling plays. He said it didnt really make sense to him to have kellen moore running the offense.

Well this is how things are done here. The quarterback picked the offensive coordinator and his input trumped the new head coach.

They're not going to win if Dak does not play regardless of the backup.

Tell that to the 2017 Philadelphia eagles, The 2001 New England Patriots, The 2000 Baltimore Ravens, The 1998 St. Louis Rams, the 1990 New York Giants, The 1987 Washington Commanders and The 1980 Oakland Raiders.

Cowboys fans and the media around here are conditioned to low expectations. Justifying the front offices shortcomings over and over.

A perfect example why Jerry fails as a GM. It should have been obvious how bad these backups were before the season started. After watching them play in preseason it should be screaming at Jerry. With Dak coming off a major injury and also having throwing shoulder soreness, Jerry should be beating the phones to find a better backup QB.

If MM isnt knocking on Jerry's door every morning telling him the same thing, then I blame him also. We can barely move the ball in preseason let alone during the regular season with these chumps backing up Dak.

mr Cowboy Roy---the whole thing literally tears me up inside...i know i should consider other hobbies....Danucci is cut and neither other backups can even be a bandaid for one game....other coaches get better back ups but
what is it about our Admin leadership....is the whole problem Jerry????

Very rare for a backup qb to lead a team to the Super Bowl. At least the Cowboys have a good starting qb. Most teams do not have that.

The Cowboys had a good backup qb just last year. What other coaches are you talking about?

Yep, very similar. Neither are really very good NFL QB's that somehow signed very large NFL QB contracts.
Yeah, but one of them actually won a Heisman.
I think RGIII would have been a good NFL QB, except Shanahan ruined his chance.

Why would that be an issue? Mitch Trubisky knows very well he is now backup material since he failed miserably in Chicago. If Trubisky doesn't want to accept them, you move on to try to find someone else who understands their "potential" and their role.

Still, it's ridiculous to use Mitchell Trubisky as an example to not have tried to bring to Dallas as Dak's backup since Mitchell Trubisky actually accepted a backup role in Buffalo for only $2 million dollars, so your argument holds no water.

Trubisky took a back-up role for 1-year to rebuild himself to be a starter next season. If you look at career stats, he isn't far off from Dak and actually can compete with Dak. Using his time in Chicago that was a crap show organization isn't accurate.

72 Dolphins, 70 Colts

You're right. I agree, but why couldn't he have come here and signed the same 1 year contract with the Cowboys as Dak's backup?

Both are of the same talent level.
High Tier 3 QB which ain't taking this team nowhere!

Very good point. And how much did we pay Dalton to be a backup? I believe it was the same wasn't it? If that's all he wants, I'd be game to bring him in....

Starting QB problems....

how'd you solve them first ?

So you have a crystal ball that says Trubisky would not play well in Dallas yet Dak can play here? Okay.
I dont need a crystal ball, just a little common sense and logic.
The problem here is the coaches, and another qb isnt going to help much.
Trubisky might do the same as dak here,or little better or little worse. Either way it doesnt matter, it isnt going to change
the teams chances of nfc champ game or SB.

As for being bkup to dak lol, what makes you think he would want that job? Or maybe he doesnt want to play for cowboys.
Maybe his agent contacted jones boys and they said they had no interest in him.

The 2 jones boys are the nfl's "ODD COUPLE" ! if they dont like a player they wont sign him.
if they decide to go cheap at the bkup qb, then cheap it is lol.
I think they paid dalton more for a good bkup, and it didnt turn out good, so they dont want to pay decent money
for a vet bkup.
