Wondering what everyone's opinion is about our current backup QB situation. Personally, I think our needs at DB, RB and WR will work itself out through trades and the draft. The backup situation worries me though.

Do we:

1) Go into the season same as last year w/ BJ as our lone backup.
2) Go w/ BJ and add a 3rd QB by drafting someone in day 2 like Ainge, Dixon or that kid from San Diego.
3) Say bye BJ and bring in a vet.
4) Deal w/ it only when the situation calls for it during the season in case Romo goes down w/ an injury that forces him to miss significant time.
5) Other.

I'm bringing this up because reports out of Tampa is that Simms is completely healthy now and I don't think I'd mind trading a late pick for him (if he doesn't get cut from Tampa's roster this summer). Also would like everyone's opinion on who they like in the upcoming draft that may be flying a bit under the radar.

We should:

Have kept Matt Moore last year and let Johnson walk, like I suggested at the time. :bang2:

We need a guy that can step in and play for an extended period of time in Romo gets hurt and that ain't Brad Johnson.

I would not trade for anyone but would wait to see who is released.

It would have been better last year if Dallas kept Moore as the 3rd QB. There was no reason to release Brad. If Romo got hurt, Moore was not capable of coming in and winning games last season. It was still questionable if Brad could have won games, but he was better and more experienced than Moore.

What vets are available? Simms hasn't been that impressive and hasn't even played in a while. I don't like the idea of left handed QBs as back ups. Everything is backwards when it comes to blocking and schemes. Not that it is an insurmountable obstacle, but it is something else to deal with if the back up has to play.
