Backup Quarterback.

And if Moore was that good he wouldn't stay around as a backup. He'd want out so he could be a starter.

Actually he was the starter last year and there was word circling this preseason that he might just lose that starting job due to poor play.

I meant if he had remained in Dallas.

we should of drafted a better back up QB mcgee sucks. Kitna will be trash. If Romo gets hurt the season is done for. We would be better off getting a solid prospect then trading him a couple of years down the line like how the Falcons did with Schuabb.

You know it amazes me how everyone believes McGee is a complete bust. He hasn't shown to be one yet. (some QBs do) IMO he just looks like a very raw player who has the tools to play the game.

Tony Romo on the other hand actually showed a lot of playmaking talent along with being really extremely raw, but I don't think we drafted McGee to replace Romo. We drafted him, only to give us a solid young not overpriced backup to take over once Kitna is gone.

Considering we still have Kitna, why is everyone so down on the kid. He has improved over last year. Every player you draft isn't going to be instant gratification type player. McGee didn't play in a pro style offense. Give him some time to develop.

No way.....every player we draft is supposed to be an all pro in their rookie year :laugh1:

I guess had we found the 1-800-QB phone number we could have done so because everyone knows if you draft a QB high it is a certainty they will become top notch QB's.

Just ask Ryan Leaf and Art Schlister.

Even one knows the draft is a crap shot however, with all the QB that has come out these past 2 years the best we could walk away with is Stephen mcgee? *shrugs*. It's not always about how high a person is drafted however, for him to be the QB we groom compared to what we could of drafted it just leaves one to think.

Apparently you don't remember the 1990's. Steve Beuerlein was our QB for a significant number of games and kept the team winning. He was even the QB in a playoff win.
Re-quoted for emphasis.

Any of those other QB would still be a crap shoot. It is easy to sit there an mouth off but the simple fact over the last 2 years most of those QB have not done jack and the simple fact is had we drafted one of them you would be moaning about that because evidently you are a damn draft guru.

I find it hilarious how it used to be fans screaming for us to spend a pick on a young Qb to develop. But now that we have, and the development hasn't gone as "planned". I put planned in quotes because it's according to the fans' ideal.

They all want Stephen McGee gone.

Can't say I want him gone but I do not know if he has made the team yet either.

If this was Stephen McGee's make or break TC and preseason. Dallas would have done more to bring in another young guy to replace him. Hell, they cut Matt Nichols.

and teams like Carolina took Moore from our PS you do know NFL rules would allow us to do the same. :laugh2:

I'm not saying Dallas will cut him I don't know is it possible yes it is I don't think anyone can say for sure that McGee job is set in stone.

The only job McGee holds is to keep working on his game.

I don't disagree with that but I don't think he is ensured a spot of the 53 man roster. We can guess all day you laugh and say fans do not like how the plan is going but then you don't know how the coaches feel it is going either. I'm not claiming McGee as a goner I'm saying he is not ensured a spot and feel he will have to earn it

All I'm saying is fans need to quit wishing for stuff if they don't have the guts or wherewithal to see it through.

There weren't any better QBs available to draft when Dallas was on the board in the 2009 draft. How do you go about getting a solid prospect? Who would that be? I bet whomever it is there would be complaints that they are not that good.
