Backyard Ice Rink

Where you live? Aren't you in Rochester now?
Yea, this was in Canandaigua. In December, Jan, and Feb the average high temp is over 35...add in the sun and I get why they had problems.

That means I might have problems. I'm in Rochester, but I do not remember it being over 35 very often, we hardly get sun. I'm up closer to the lake than you are though, so it could help me.

Yea, as close as Daigua is to Roc, the weather is pretty different. I'd imagine being closer to the lake would make a pretty good difference.

I'd also recommend going a bit deeper or thicker. It might take a little bit longer to freeze, but thicker ice wouldn't be as influenced by moderate temperature changes.
