Not at all a fan. Not that I don't respect them (or Free for that matter) but the sound just never worked for me. I do like the Black Crowes though. Very underrated band. I pretty much stopped listening after Amorica, but that album along with Southern Harmony is an excellent piece of music. Off the top of my head; top 5 Crowes songs:
Wiser Time- Has there ever been a better driving song than this? Maybe you need to live in a big country like Canada or the States, but this song just evokes long stretches of highway.
Cursed Diamond- Great, emotive chords, strong singing; some of Chris Robinson's best lyrics.
Thorn in My Pride- The Crowes doing the Stones in the proper way (not the half-baked stuff on Shake Your Moneymaker.)
Descending- The piano part sounds so obvious, like you've heard it a thousand times before, but it works so well and makes a great album closer.
Sometimes Salvation- Actually not a big fan of the song itself but man that guitar solo! Mark Ford (I believe that's his name) was a great addition to the band. Is he back with them?
