We have all heard that the skins were calling out signals, and Romo was scolding Costa.

But as I rewatch our highlights, the whole O-line goes when Costa snaps the ball, ... only Romo was caught off guard.

And twice it looks like Romo was ready, but the ball gets by him.

Now I wonder what exactly was going on.

(sorry if this has already been discussed)

I rewatched it too with the volume up and i couldn’t hear any of the Skins making noise presnap. Although #72 always seemed to be on the field at those moments. There was in the first quarter a #20 barking something but it didn’t sound like a cadence. But Romo generally waits till there is 1 millisecond left to want the ball snapped so i am not sure why Costa would do it so early so many times.

They heard the same thing Costa did, they also watch the ball and can sense when the guy next to them is moving. They also react to the defensive guys who are watching the snap.

I would assume cause they see the Costa & the ball move, they react accordingly...

This is all on Phil Costa, why cant people accept that, instead of making excuse for his poor play?

Fix it, that is all I care about at this stage. Costa fault, Romo fault, Jason fault don't care fix it!

has this ever been a problem for Costa in games or practice? no. why this game? the skins were cheating and should have been flagged. "but evrybody does it" bullcrap

Once this kind of error happens once or twice, for whatever reason, its highly susceptible to reocurring strictly as a result of nerves and tension, regarding it.

That's why you can't let it happen once.

I agree... fix it- whatever the problem is. No excuses.

Even if they were Dallas has to address it and from what I read they are doing just that. You don't wait on the league office to come up with ways to prevent this from happening again.

psss..fixed it for you, must have the Blame Game MVP

I would expect that.

If the OL was waiting for the signal, they would go when they heard the signal.
If Romo was calling for the snap, he would be ready for the ball to be snapped.
If Romo wasn't calling for the snap, he wouldn't be ready for the ball to be snapped.

So when the OL hears the signal, they go. Since Romo wasn't giving the signal to go, he wasn't ready.

I don't know how you stop that. I was lucky enough to be kneeling right on the back line of the end-zone at the Vet when there were a couple of goal line plays - there was so much yelling going on from all directions, I'm not sure how a ref could make a call on something like that. And if that had been the case on Monday, why didn't we get it stopped after the first instance?

I have no bone to pick with Jerry on this. I think Jerry is letting Garrett have pretty much a free hand to run this team. I hated the mistakes that took place I know Tony hated them, I know Costa hated them as well as Jason. So now what? Fix it, mistakes happen fix it move on

Yeah I know. Just added Jerry because he seems to be the root of all evil around here.

There comes a point when players have to play. Jerry the GM could be better. Then again, he could be worse.

He has had a early snap in both the Jets and the SF game so yeah it is a continuing problem,

uhh I got news for you man, every center in the league has had a bad snap once or twice in his career.

To me, I don't believe this talk of the snap counts being called out.

IF that was true, you'd think after the first or second time that the players and coaches would be going crazy at the refs, but we saw nothing.

In fact, we saw Romo chewing out Costa. If Costa wasn't really at fault, you'd see Romo going to the Refs about it instead.

I think they are trying to save face.

defensive players are always talking and pulling crap. So I don't buy it either. Add to that by halftime that should have been a talking point with the coaches and players. Apparently it was not. ADD to that you cannot tell me the other O line players would not have noticed it and said something. Romo was right there- you tell me he would not have noticed? This is all BS.

No way Romo gets his OWN snap count wrong... think about it...

Are you going to say those low snaps were his fault too? Is he too tall?

So you mean to say Bowen wasn't calling out the cadence?

This entire board has been saying that since Tuesday
