Trick, sorry to hear this.

That's crazy. I would have never guessed they'd have to amputate. I would have thought a cast and send him on his way. I'm a dog lover and sorry to hear about it. That said, I see tripods running around all over the place like nothing even happened to them. Animals are so much tougher than people, almost embarrassingly so.
How's Mikey doing, Trick?? Sure hope he is doing okay pain wise, and coping wise. Any updates you can give us??
Phantom pains will make him cry, as will his wanting to move his leg, but it is not there. Poor baby. Pain meds can help with phantom pain, but I am sure the doc told you all of this. Well, thank you for filling us in, Trick. We are concerned about him and hope he is getting along as well as can be. Please fill us in on his progress, as he learns to live again and adapt to his new way of life and mobility. He is so beautiful and sweet looking, this is such a tragic thing to happen to such a wonderful pup. But he is a warrior.

So sorry to hear bud. Mikey is a beautiful pup. Australian Shepard-Blue Heeler mix? Best of wishes to Mikey and your family on the healing process.
He's a mini-aussie...
He's doing pretty well... he goes through crying spells at times... heartbreaking... but he's getting around fine...

Never heard of a minnie-Aussie. Looks a lot like the friend I had as a kid. She was that mix I spoke of earlier. Name was Sadie. Great dog (family friend).
